Administrative Region of Slobozia is an administrative region of Moldovan region of Transnistria (internationally recognized as part of Republic of Moldova). Its seat is Slobozia. Slobozia is located at 46°44′N 29°42′E / 46.733°N 29.700°E / 46.733; 29.700. It is the southernmost administrative region of Transnistria, located south of Tiraspol. The regional center, that is the city of Slobozia had a population of 19,000 at the census in 1989, and an estimated 12.300 people in the 2004 census. Another city, Dnestrovsk had a population of roughly 11.200 people (most people there are Ukrainian and Russian). The population of the city of Slobozia is mostly made up of a Romanian plurality, while Russians and Ukrainians are important minorities.
