Merger proposal

[edit]

Request received at Merger Request Noticeboard to merge: Na`at, Durood, and Salawat into one article, title to be determined. Rationale: "hey refer to similar topics." Discuss below. GenQuest "Talk to Me" 18:58, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that Salawat is a redirect to Peace be upon him (Islam) and Na`at is a type of poetry different from Durood and Peace be upon him (Islam). CBWeather, Talk, Seal meat for supper? 20:10, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree

[edit]

Salawat means sending salutations on Prophet Durood has the same meaning. It is an invocation to the God which Muslims make by saying specific phrases to compliment the Islamic prophet Muhammad There are several kinds of Durood recited by muslims.

Salawat is an Arabic word while Durood is a Persian/Urdu word for the same thing.

Here on wikipedia there is an article Durood while Salawat is redirected to [Peace be upon him (Islam)]], a honorific or a short form of durood attached to the names of the prophets in Islam.I thing Salawat should be redirected to Durood. And I am going to do that change.

Na`at is a form of Urdu poetry praises the Islamic prophet Muhammad. And the Urdu poetry and Arabic pharases can never be same.So this proposal should be rejected. Ejaz92 (talk) 18:36, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
