[edit]

This page MystiMayhem is a work in progress, created as a subpage on the user space for OrdinalSeven. The article is about the American artist Mysti Mayhem and has been cited as not conforming to the notability guideline.

Notability is claimed here because the artist is among the first to record an album funded through a fan-base outside of a traditional record label. It is my feeling this funding model represents an important step in the evolution of the music industry.

The article for Sellaband has a list of the first 21 artists to reach the $50,000 threshold for album production and this list contains links to individual wiki pages for many of those artists. There is a link to Mysti Mayhem but there is no supporting article as there is for other artists in the list so I set out to create such a supporting article.

I'd like to stress that this article is under construction and what has been marked for speedy deletion was only the beginning.

Summary: I consider the artist in question notable for having been exclusively fan-funded in a formalized business model in a changing music industry. Other artists in this category have surviving wiki pages.

It is now starting to appear to me that I created this article in the main wikipedia space instead of my user space. If this is true I apologize for this. I thought by creating a link on my user page it became a subpage of my user page.

I am in the process of properly formatting this article so that it provides appropriate sources and exhibits notability and neutrality.
