Takefu Station (武生駅, Takefu-eki) is a railway station on the Hokuriku Main Line in the city of Echizen, Fukui, Japan, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West).[1]

Lines

Takefu Station is served by the Hokuriku Main Line,[2] and is located 81.0 kilometers from the terminus of the line at Maibara.

Station layout

The station consists of one side platform and one island platform serving three tracks. The station building is located on the south side of the tracks. The station has a "Midori no Madoguchi" staffed ticket office.[1]

History

Takefu Station opened on 15 July 1896.[3] With the privatization of Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR West.[3]

Future plans

Effective the 16 March 2024 timetable revision, this station is to be transferred to the Hapi-Line Fukui Line due to the opening of the western extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Kanazawa to Tsuruga.[4]

In fiscal 2016, the station was used by an average of 2,344 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).[5]
