Fair use rationale for Image:Shatterpointfrontcover.jpg

[edit]

Image:Shatterpointfrontcover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:37, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shatterpoints!

[edit]

I think it's fair to say that the novel introduces a fairly original Force power. Yet, I see no mention of it. I haven't read the book recently enough to add it in myself, but Mace's power is literally seeing the stress fractures in reality, and being able to act in the right way to get reality to break as he desires. Right? Why no mention? Howa0082 (talk) 04:36, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Synopsis

[edit]

summary taken from Mace Windu

In Shatterpoint, six months after Episode II, Windu is called to Haruun Kal, his homeplanet, to find and bring back his former apprentice, Depa Billaba. On Haruun Kal, he is captured by Haruun Kal's police forces, lead by Lorz Geptun, due to the fact Mace is a Jedi and since the Separatists are having control over planet, Geptun expected a bounty out of him, but Mace bribes him into getting him out of jail. Later, Mace is contacted by four more Korunnani, Nick Rostu, Chalk, Besh and Lesh, who help him defeat a group of Separatist forces in a short confrontation in an alley. They bring him into Haruun Kal's jungle where Rostu and his friends claim they will take him to Depa, whom is held by a rebel Korunnai team lead by savage leader Kar Vastor. Lesh dies of poisoning from a jungle food he ate shortly after Mace destroyed Separatist vehicle in a confrontation with two other vehicles, and later, after Mace saves a four children from a volcano and meets up with their tribe, they are instantly attacked by Vastor and his forces, and in the ensuing chaos, one of the four children Mace saved, Terrel Nakay, butchers Chalk and Besh, where Besh would later die and Chalk barely recovering the aftermath. Mace was too late to save Terrel from being killed by Vastor, but nevertheless, Mace, Rostu, Chalk and Besh are picked up by Vastor and his forces and take them to their hideout, where Mace meets up with Depa. Mace later challenges Vastor into a physical brawl as to whom would lead the tribe - Mace or Vastor. Vastor defeated Mace in the fight, but Mace gave Vastor his lightsaber so he would keep track of the Korunnai's leader through the Force. All this leads up to the Separatists launching an attack on Haruun Kal when the Republic ship that brought Mace to the planet arrives. Mace, Rostu, Chalk, Vastor and Depa fight in the Battle of Haruun Kal, where in the midst of battle, Vastor and Depa turn on Mace and his comrades to take on the non-natives who lived on Haruun Kal. Chalk succumbs to her wounds and is taken to a medical facility, leaving Mace and Rostu alone. They track down Lorz Geptun and lure him into helping Vastor, Vastor's forces and the Separatists in one single blow. Mace and his team go to the facility which controls aall the Separatist droids on Haruun Kal. A fight ensues where Mahtsaber duels Depa, Geptun tries to shut down the droids through the main computer, and Rostu and the clone troopers he's leading fight against Vastor and his forces. In the end, Vastor's forces are killed, Rostu is wounded, Depa slashes the lock from the main computer on accident for a killing stroke on Mace in their duel and Geptun finally shuts down all of the battle droids, ending the Baattle of Haruun Kal while Depa falls into a coma from the insanity she suffered. As for Vastor, Mace, knowing he can't beat him in another fight, defeats him by simply throwing one of Vastor's weapons into him at a sufficient range of not killing him. Vastor would later be taken to the Jedi Temple as a prisoner on Coruscant, and Mace is afraid to know that Depa will never come out of her coma. It is revealed that after the Baattle of Geonosis, Depa asked Mace why he couldn't bomb the arena on Geonosis, and Mace reveals it is because he knows Anakin Skywalker will bring balance to the Force, which would later occur in Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Profitoftruth85 (talkcontribs) 18:05, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
