Architecture

Ormond College has multiple buildings named after some of the masters. Some of the buildings are supposedly severe fire hazards - Main Building, home to many seniors is the second most flammable building in the Southern Hemisphere, being insulated entirely with hay. However, nothing can be done as these buildings are heritage listed. Fat Red 05:09, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This suggests I have written this passage. Actually, I cut it and pasted it on the talk page to be reinstated if there was a citation available.Fat Red (talk) 23:52, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alumni list

I have removed David Crawford because it is quite unclear. It links to a disambiguation page that contains David Crawford (director) who is Australian but the article does not mention Ormond. This list needs serious work by someone who knows the College and has access to records of alumni. All redlinks should be properly cited by evidence that the person is an alumni, or the name should be removed. The blue links should point to articles that demonstrate with sources that the persons concerned are alumni. --Bduke (talk) 23:02, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Conflict of Interest editing on behalf of Ormond College

Due to the numerous and blatant violations of the Conflict of Interest policies (See WP:COI) I have reverted the article back to a version before this unacceptable editing apparently started. Anyone associated with Ormond College who feels tempted to edit the article should be aware of the COI policies, especially the following:

"A Wikipedia conflict of interest (COI) is an incompatibility between the aim of Wikipedia, which is to produce a neutral, reliably sourced encyclopedia, and the aims of an individual editor. COI editing involves contributing to Wikipedia in order to promote your own interests or those of other individuals, companies, or groups. When advancing outside interests is more important to an editor than advancing the aims of Wikipedia, that editor stands in a conflict of interest.
COI editing is strongly discouraged. It risks causing public embarrassment to the individuals and groups being promoted (see Wikipedia is in the real world), and if it causes disruption to the encyclopedia, accounts may be blocked."

Any further COI editing of this article will run the risk of the article being deleted and public embarrassment to the college. Anglicanus (talk) 08:24, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 12 February 2024

I request that the page is reverted back to its 27th December 2023 version, as it correctly lists alumni to have attended the college. Without a proper alumni list this page is incomplete considering Ormond is regarded as a premier college in Australia with numerous notable alumni. INSHALLAH54355 (talk) 05:23, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored *some* of the alumni, only those that had a citation attached to them. Any additions to the list without a citation accompanying them will be removed, as is standard for alumni lists. GraziePrego (talk) 05:51, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would also suggest re adding the Fulbright and rhodes scholars to the page which had previously been there. INSHALLAH54355 (talk) 11:47, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I rolled your edits back because 1. you were restoring unsourced content en-masse. 2. you managed to delete the controversy section and add a bunch of unsourced marketing fluff. 3. you removed the short description and issue templates without resolving the issues.
