Proton Magnetometer: Military applications.

I'm a new user, and don't know how to add links. Also, this is not a great link, but it shows that magnetometers were used fairly early in submarine warfare. I've been told that magnetometers were put in development largely due to the U.S. D.O.D needing a device that could detect low-metal content mines used in the Korean War. I'll leave this info out of the page itself until I've found some better links though.
