Photo of book cover?

[edit]

I own this book. Lakota Hoop DancerCould I take a photo of the cover, and post it on the page?--I'm Nonpartisan (talk) 05:02, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not usually, since they are copyrighted. Book covers can usually only be used as fair use on articles about the book. Unless there is significant content about the book on this page, the image should not be added. Regards, -- Jeff3000 (talk) 12:13, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Jeff, what if I did a page about the book on Wikibook?--I'm Nonpartisan (talk) 04:09, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't know anything about Wikibook and it's policies. I thought Wikibook was were copyright free text could be placed, not an encyclopedic entry about a specific book. Regards, -- Jeff3000 (talk) 04:42, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Jeff, you are right, I didn't know what wikibook was until I went and looked. Wikipedia does have pages on important books though. Since this is a children's book on a Lakota Hoop Dancer, and so somewhat unusal, I wonder if it is worthy of it's own page?--I'm Nonpartisan (talk) 23:07, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

However, I'd think the book would have much citable information that could supplement and affirm the content of the article which seems to lack almost any citation.--Smkolins (talk) 12:51, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I'm working up to the citations. I have to dig out the book, but most of the info is from the Kevin Locke homepage, other biography articles online, and such. Now, the CD info is from Amazon, that is, these are the CD's in print that I found listed on Amazon. How would that be cited?--I'm Nonpartisan (talk) 23:07, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Biography Template

[edit]

I've never done the biography template. Is someone else more comfortable adding the template to this page?--I'm Nonpartisan (talk) 23:11, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To add to article

[edit]

To add to this article: Locke's cause of death appears to have been an asthma attack. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 20:12, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. This was added yesterday, following publication of his obituary in the New York Times (a reliable source). NOLA1982 (talk) 16:08, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
