Based on True Events

[edit]

Can there be some information listed to what case inspired this movie? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.185.15.221 (talk) 23:13, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kidus Henok

[edit]

The editor 74.60.218.51 (talk · contribs) and I have been in disagreement about whether or not to include Kidus Henok in this article's "Cast" section. I based the current cast list on the actors' names identified in the poster (seen in large size here), and Kidus Henok is not among them. 74.60.218.51 says Kidus Henok appears in the film trailer, but I do not think this is reason enough to include him. Also, the actor is credited as "DEA Agent", which is not a named role and not a noteworthy cameo like some unnamed roles may be. We try to follow rules of thumb for listing the cast per MOS:FILM#Cast. 74.60.218.51, if you have anything else to add, go ahead. I just wanted to start a discussion here for input from other editors so we can determine a consensus. Erik (talk | contribs) 14:23, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I talked to the IP on her talk page, and we agreed about removing the name. Erik (talk | contribs) 18:36, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cartels: running drug profits back into Mexico

[edit]

Maybe somebody can add to the article some discussion on what facets of Cartel activity the movie got right, and got wrong. If not, maybe somebody in law enforcement, or someone who has been exposed to drug dealing, can enlighten me on the following. The one thing in the movie that was most disturbing to me was the part of the story where Agent Cooper tells John that he will be killed by the cartel if he crosses into Mexico. Is this accurate? I understand the concept of violence to protect their business from informants and from anybody who messes with the business of the cartels. But its some scary stuff to think that the cartels would be hardcore enough to kill a driver who trucks the money back into Mexico. That is so unncessesary. Marc S. Edit warring over the budget of the film

[edit]

No reliable source mentions what is the budget of the film. There is no solid proof of what the budget of the film is. So I ask the user who is inserting the budget of the film as $15 million to stop reinserting the budget as $15 million again and again. This is edit warring and is completely against the rules of Wikipedia. I ask the user to stop edit warring and discuss this matter with other users. KahnJohn27 (talk) 05:22, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
