Characters of the Kirby series
This is a list of characters in the Kirby universe.
Adeleine
Adeleine (also known as Ado) is a human girl (quite possibly the only human who lives in Dreamland) who is a painter. Her first appearance is in Kirby's Dream Land 3, where she is a boss. She paints four bosses that Kirby has to fight before he can fight Adeleine head-on.
In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Adeleine is once again possessed by Dark Matter, and this time, Kirby first must defeat five enemies and then two bosses. After she is free from Dark Matter, Adeleine travels with Kirby for the rest of his adventure, helping Kirby out by painting objects for him.
Blocky
Blocky is a block of rock that appears in both Kirby's Dream Land 2 and 3 as a mini-boss that Kirby can inhale for the Stone ability. He attacks by either triple-jumping and then slamming down on the ground or charging walls; whatever he does, he makes little rocks for Kirby to inhale and fire back at him. His appearance is based on the Rocky enemies in the Adventures of Lolo series as well as other Eggerland games.
He also appears in the anime. (See: Blocky in the anime)
Bonkers
Bonkers first appears in Kirby's Adventure. His appearance is that of a gorilla-like, armor wearing creature wielding a massive hammer. Its main color is most often purple.
He attacks with the hammer as well as throwing exploding coconuts. Upon defeating him, Kirby gains the Hammer ability. In Kirby Super Star, Kirby can create a Bonkers helper from the Hammer ability, though the helper is incabable of tossing coconuts. He appears again in Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror as a mini-boss. He is the only enemy that gives the Hammer ability, which is often very useful for hitting special switches.
Bonkers also appears in the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! anime as a friendly character who used to live in the jungles until a circus caught him and forced him to perform. One night he saw one of the clowns watch his favorite show, which turned out to be Kirby! That's how Bonkers got inspired to meet Kirby in person, so he set off to find him. Bonkers is very polite and wants to find Kirby so he can train with him. Dedede of course does his best to mess things up for the ape, like having the Nightmare Enterprises salesman turn him into a monster. But everything turns out okay in the end, and Bonkers leaves Dream Land to train on his own, taking with him a photo of him and his hero, Kirby.
Bugzzy
Bugzzy is a large stag beetle-like monster that was first found in Kirby's Adventure. It has the ability to fly up into the air and slowly hover, shoot out small beetle creatures that go towards Kirby, and can fly across the ground and grab Kirby, flipping him over or throwing him for damage. Defeating and inhaling Bugzzy in Kirby Super Star results in getting the Suplex ability, which allows Kirby to pick up and flip/throw enemies around. In Kirby's Adventure and the remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland, he gives you Backdrop ability.
He appears in the anime as a sword-wielding Monster. See: Bugzzy in the anime
Cappy
Cappies are a species of mushroom people. They work against Kirby in the video games, but they are normally friendly to Kirby in the anime.
Chuchu
Chuchu is the only female animal friend, and rides sticking to Kirby's head. She has the ability to stick to ceilings and travel that way.
She has a friend called Nyupun that looks like her, but yellow and wearing a sailor cap and a pink ribbon.
Coo the Owl
Coo is a wise and level-headed bird with the ability to fly against strong winds. He carries Kirby with his feet.
He appears as a cameo character in the anime, and is respected by many others such as Tokkori. He is voiced by Chiro Kanzaki in the Japanese version.
Cook Kawasaki
Cook Kawasaki is an orange, kidney-bean shaped creature with stubby limbs, who wears an apron and chef's hat and uses a frying pan as his weapon. His only game appearance was Kirby Super Star. He did make a brief appearance in Kirby's Dreamland 3, though. Kirby could copy the Cook ability from Cook Kawasaki, which could be used to transform enemies into food.
In the Kirby anime, Cook Kawasaki was a regular character who ran a restaurant, but served lousy tasting food.
Dark Matter
Dark Matter is a fictional character and recurring antagonist in the Kirby series of video games. To date, it has appeared in three games, Kirby's Dream Land 2, Kirby's Dream Land 3, and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
0 (Zero)
0 is the controlling force behind Dark Matter. It generally resides at the core of a massive cloud of dark matter, in the form of a giant eyeball with a red iris.
It appeared for the first time in the final battle of Kirby's Dream Land 3, after Kirby defeats a single dark matter cloud. It attacks by throwing blood drops and mini-versions of the Dark Matter cloud Kirby had destroyed before at him, and can also charge him and then fire blood at him from the background. When 0 takes enough damage, the red eye in the center of its body pops out and begins to chase Kirby around. The eyeball itself has much less defense than the body it was in the center of had. After the eyeball is destroyed, 0 falls, and Kirby is able to destroy the massive cloud hovering over Pop Star.
In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, 0 returns as 0² (Zero Two), an angelic-looking form of 0 with a halo and wings. It attacks with the electric blasts from its eye as well as the green gas from its green spiked tail. Kirby must destroy it to free Ripple Star entirely from Dark Matter's grasp. To do so, all he has to do is shoot its eye with the Crystal Gun many times, then, the halo, and finally, its tail. Alternatively, he can also shoot and destroy its wings, which will make it move more slowly, and also make its eye easier to hit. Upon its health being depleted, beams come out of 0², causing Dark Star to explode.
In the anime, there is a large eyeball on the front of Nightmare's Fortress that looks like 0.
Miracle Matter
Miracle Matter is the boss of Ripple Star in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, and appears to be the final boss of the game until all of the Crystal Shards are collected, after which an additional planet called Dark Star, with 0², the real final boss, at the end, is revealed. Its appearance is shown as a large white icosahedron with 20 red eyes, having one eye on each face. It has the power to transform into all of the seven abilities that Kirby can copy in that game, and Kirby must damage it by inhaling its projectiles and spitting them out at it when it possesses the same ability as the projectile Kirby has inhaled; otherwise, Miracle Matter won't take any damage. Alternatively, Kirby can come into the fight with an ability in hand; he can only hurt Miracle Matter with an ability when Miracle Matter possesses the same ability as the one Kirby is holding, though it doesn't need to be a pure ability as it can be damaged by an ability mixed from 2 types as long as it is using one of those two types. As damage is landed on it, its eyes start to turn completely black, one at a time. Once all of its eyes turn completely black, Miracle Matter explodes revealing the last big Crystal Shard. Miracle Matter is considered the most time-consuming form of Dark Matter that Kirby has to fight.
Dark Mind
Dark Mind is a fictional character in the Kirby series of video games for Nintendo. He is the final boss of Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, and the true villain of the game who attempted conquering the Mirror World.
Dark Nebula
Dark Nebula (Dark Zero in the original Japanese version) is a fictional character in the Kirby series of video games for Nintendo. He is the final boss of Kirby: Squeak Squad, and the true villain of the game. He commonly appears as a giant black star with a purple glow/flames around his body and a red/pink/purple cat-like eye in the center. Some fans believe it to be the same entity as 0 from previous Kirby games, due to his Japanese name.
Demon Beasts
The monsters that Nightmare creates are the creatures that King Dedede buys online using a special transport device, and uses to attack Kirby and the rest of Dream Land. They are referred to as majū (魔獣, lit. "demon beast") in the original Japanese version.[1]
In addition to referring to the creatures Nightmare creates, monster also can be used to describe someone based on the way they act. Knuckle Joe was called a monster because of the cruel, violent way he attacked a defenseless Kirby. It is also possible to be a monster under a contract, although it's never specifically explained what is meant by that.
Monsters range in size from microscopic disease-causing pathogens to towering dragons and robots, and are based on all manner of animals, mythological creatures, and even people.
Drawcia
Drawcia is a fictional character in the Kirby series of video games for Nintendo. Drawcia is a witch who mixes painting with magic. Her name is a play on the word draw. She appears exclusively as the main antagonist in the game Kirby: Canvas Curse.
Drawcia was created from a painting that resembled her slighty. She wanted a land of paint, and to get her wish, Drawcia turned Dream Land into a painting where she ruled everything. Drawcia also turned Kirby into a ball, so that he couldn't foil her plans. Her mistake was that she left one of her magical paintbrushes with Kirby upon fleeing the scene. Her magical paintbrush did not want any of this to happen, so it decides to help Kirby in getting rid of Drawcia. So Kirby and the magical paintbrush worked together to get through the newly-warped Dream Land.
Drawcia Sorceress is Drawcia's physical form. She can paint characters like King Dedede and bring them to life. This how the bosses for the stages are created. She also used this technique against Kirby and creates enemies without copy abilities, spikes, or parachuting bombs to distract attention from herself. To stun her, as she has a force field, players have to deflect the fire balls she throws back towards her with the paintbrush's lines. Then Kirby is able to roll into Drawcia before she is able to recover, thereby damaging her. When she is defeated by Kirby, her robe and hat vanish into thin air as her body becomes a giant ball of paint.
Drawcia's Soul is a giant ball of paint with five small eyes, and a giant mouth below the five. She is the spirit form of Drawcia. She creates creatures called Para-Matters to attack Kirby. All of her attacks involve her manifesting her body somehow to attack Kirby. When she appears in the foreground, players must tap her a certain number of times (depending on the character used) to stun her and then roll the character into her. Upon her defeat, Drawcia is sucked back into her painting and is smashed to pieces, never again to be seen.
Dyna Blade
Dyna Blade (ダイナブレイド) is a fictional bird who is a character in the Kirby series of video games created by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. She appears in both Kirby Super Star and Kirby Air Ride, as well as the Japanese animated Kirby: Right Back at Ya! television series.
Dyna Blade is pictured as an enormous, armored bird with white feathers as well as rainbow-colored ones on her metal wings. She wears red armor with yellow rims and has a blue stone on her chest, and she wears a black neckplate with yellow rims around her red neck. She has a red-and-green-feathered head with yellow spiky hair on it and has blue eyes.
Escargoon
Escargoon (Doctor Escargon (ドクター・エスカルゴン, Dokutaa Esukarugon) is a fictional character in the Kirby anime series. He is one of the lead male characters in Kirby: Right Back at Ya! besides Kirby. His name is a play on both the food escargot, and in the English dub, the word "goon". He is voiced by Naoki Tatsuta in the Japanese version and Ted Lewis in the English dub.
Gooey
Gooey is Kirby's best friend. He first appeared in Kirby's Dream Land 2, and could be found in the various bags in the game under certain conditions. In that game, his only function was to restore Kirby's health, but in Kirby's Dream Land 3 he was a playable character.
He is a small blue blob of goo. In a single player game, Gooey can be summoned as a computer-controlled ally. He is a pure version of Dark Matter, and during the game's final battle in space, Gooey's flying form is similar to Dark Matter.[citation needed]
There is also a girl version of Gooey found in Kirby's Dream Land 2 who has a similar function as Gooey did in that game. She also gives a single game completion percentage point for the first encounter with her. The girl Gooey looks exactly like Gooey, except she's lighter and wears a bow.
Gordo
Gordo is a common enemy found in many Kirby games. It looks like a black ball covered in spikes, with two large eyes. They are invincible to all of Kirby's attacks, and even a very powerful one-shot ability doesn't affect them at all. They will typically move in a straight line, horizontally or vertically, bouncing back and forth between walls, presenting a simple moving obstacle for Kirby. Notably, in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, when Kirby acquired the Bomb+Needle combo power, he became an explosive mini-version of Gordo for a short period of time. In Kirby Air Ride, the name is changed to Gold Spike and is a weapon. Basically, the player can toss up to three of them. They will bounce when thrown from great heights.
Distinct relatives of Gordo are:
- Blado, a Gordo with blades instead of spikes in Kirby: Canvas Curse
- Captain Stitch, a less indestructible but larger version of Gordo who is a mini-boss in Kirby's Dream Land 2 and 3.
Heavy Lobster
A boss from Kirby Super Star in the Revenge of the Meta Knight subgame. It is a large, gold mech that resembles a lobster, is one of Meta Knight's strongest weapons, and is one of the harder bosses in the game. It can shoot out fire streams from its claws, as well as miniature Heavy Lobsters and paint blobs. Heavy Lobster is one of the few enemies that gives Kirby the "Paint" copy ability via the aforementioned rare blob that it drops.
Kirby can use the Paint ability to blind HL. When Heavy Lobster is blind, it turns from its normal yellow color to red. It also appears in Milky Way Wishes as the boss of Mecheye.
It appears in the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! anime as a laser-firing monster with a thick and hard to penetrate armor, but the Ice ability works on it quite well. It was one of Nightmare's most powerful monsters, and also the final monster Nightmare sent to attack Kirby.
Ice Dragon
The Ice Dragon (アイスドラゴン) is a fictional creature in various Kirby video games and the anime. It appears to be a blue dinosaur (in the anime it was green with a yellow belly) capable of blowing ice, flying around by wagging its tail, throwing ice blocks, jumping around, and making icicles fall upon enemies. It is a boss in the video games.
- In the anime
The Ice Dragon also appears in the both the pilot for the anime (it is a baby where Kirby easily inhales it to become Ice Kirby and freezes Dark Matter) and the final version of the anime itself. It appears in the Kirby anime episode, "Goodbye, Snowman Chilly", aired in the USA as "Dedede's Snow Job".
Kabu
Kabu is a rock statue enemy. Their first appearance is in Kirby's Dream Land and also appear in most other games. They have the ability to disappear and reappear, spinning around and moving erraticly to hit Kirby and damage him.
A large, stationary Kabu plays a role in the Kirby anime. In that version, Kabu is an ancient and wise sage who can see the future. Kabu also serves as a hospital and protection for Warpstars and wounded Star Warriors like a recovery room.
Kine the Ocean Sunfish
Kine is the most useful in underwater levels, being able to swim against the strongest currents. He carries Kirby inside his mouth, and allows Kirby to inhale and swallow enemies underwater instead of just spitting it. While he can stay on land indefinitely, he's very slow and awkward to move and cannot jump well. Also, unlike the other characters, Kine's abilities work the same underwater as on land(the other animals abilities are stunted underwater) In the games he has a wife, a pink sunfish named Mine.
Kine was a slightly more prominent character in the anime than the other two, even getting an entire episode devoted to him. His personality is rather youthful and naive, and he has a huge crush on the character Tiff. He is voiced by Nobuo Tobita in the original.
King Dedede
King Dedede (デデデ大王, Dedede Daiō), also spelled "King DeDeDe", and "King De De De" is the first antagonist to Kirby in Nintendo and HAL Labs' long-running Kirby video game series, appearing in every game except Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.
Although not necessarily evil, he does seem to have some level of malice, though most of his actions in the series have him causing easily correctable problems for the inhabitants of Dream Land, such as stealing their food or building a castle on top of the Fountain Of Dreams. His more heinous actions are more often due to possession by more sinister entity of Dark Matter, along with the rest of the usual franchise enemies. Despite this, he and Kirby have teamed up on occasions with the purpose of taking down a greater common foe.
Kirby
Kirby (カービィ, Kābii) has been the star of a number of namesake games developed by HAL Laboratory, and has also become a popular anime character in recent years.
Kirby has appeared in over twenty games since 1992 and has starred in his own animated series. The Kirby series has sold over 30 million units worldwide. The core games of the series are platformers that follow a loose timeline matching the release order. They typically begin with an evil force threatening his home of Dream Land (Pupupuland プププランド) on the planet Popstar, most often the greedy King Dedede or mysterious Dark Matter. No matter the odds, Kirby sets off to defeat it. The main games always have Kirby with the same basic abilities- he can walk, run, jump, float, and inhale and spit out or devour his enemies. Following Kirby's Dream Land, Kirby was able to gain the abilities of the enemies he swallowed, such as Fire, Sword or Fighter.
Knuckle Joe
Knuckle Joe's first and only current game appearance was as an enemy in Kirby Super Star, where he walks slowly but executes his fighting moves quickly. He has a separate body and head, with spiked hat held up in a bandana, and longer arms and legs, making him one of the most human-like Kirby enemies. His pointed ears also give him an elf-like appearance.
By swallowing him, Kirby can gain the Fighter ability, which allows him to knock out enemies with a punch and kick. Kirby can also create a 'helper' Knuckle Joe to aid him or be controlled by the second player. Knuckle Joe returns in the upcoming Kirby Wii game, where he still gives Kirby the Fighter ability when swallowed.
Knuckle Joe was a prominent character in the Kirby anime. (See: Knuckle Joe in the anime)
Kracko
Kracko (クラッコ) is a fictional character from the Nintendo Kirby series. It first appeared as a boss character in Kirby's Dream Land for the Game Boy console.
It resembles a large cumulus cloud with spikes protruding from all sides, and a single large eyeball in the center. Kracko has a similar battle tactic in each of these games. It will either release electricity clockwise, dive across the screen, drop an enemy, or, more recently, create a damaging rain shower. Kracko is typically first seen in an "immature form", sometimes called Mini-Kracko or Kracko Jr..
Lololo and Lalala
Lololo and Lalala (ロロロ and ラララ) are fictional characters from the Kirby series of video games created by HAL Laboratory. They are based on a pair of characters from the Adventures of Lolo series, a creation of HAL Laboratory's on the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Lololo and Lalala first appeared in the Kirby series as bosses in Kirby's Dream Land (which was later remade as Spring Breeze on Kirby Super Star) in the second stage, Castle Lololo. In their stage they would push green boxes around (much like in their own games) on platforms to try and hit Kirby. (This style of boss fight would later be copied by Nruff and Nelly and Pon and Con in later games.
Renamed to Fololo and Falala in the 4Kids dub, the pair's role in the anime is quite different from any of their games. No longer royalty themselves, they are the servants and friends of Tiff's family and live in King Dedede's castle.
Marx
Marx (Mark in the original Japanese version) is a fictional character who appears in the game Kirby Super Star for Super Nintendo. He is the main villain and final boss of the Milky Way Wishes portion of the game, and also appears in the mini-game The Arena.
Even though he is a resident of Dream Land, Marx is an evil genius who dreams of conquering Popstar itself. He has a distinct appearance, unlike most of Kirby's fellow Dream Landers, involving him wearing a jester's cap, big brown clown-like shoes, and a red bow tie around his neck, and having purple flesh and demented-looking facial features. He mainly moves around by bouncing on his favorite ball, which resembles a beach ball. In his ultimate form, he grows wings and fangs, and bears the same grin on his face as he does in his normal form.
Marx first appears presenting himself as a good guy, appearing in front of Kirby saying that he wants to help him make peace between the Sun and Moon, which have started fighting day and night. He tells Kirby that he needs to gather power from all the planets around Popstar and then ask Nova for help. The Fountain of Dreams learns of this, and sends him on a difficult quest to do so. What Kirby doesn't know, however, is that Marx is really behind the problems in Dream Land, getting the Sun and Moon to fight each other, in which Marx really wants ultimate power. By the time Kirby gets to Nova, Marx pushes Kirby out of the way and makes his wish to Nova, which is to conquer Popstar. Nova transforms Marx into his ultimate form (who proceeds to repeatedly hurt Kirby until the stars come together to form the Star Chariot) and proceeds to attempt to crash into Popstar but is stopped by the Sun and Moon which join together to do so. Kirby rides his Star Chariot inside Nova, fights his way through its inside, and destroys its heart, severely damaging Nova. Marx sees all of this, and decides to battle Kirby.
Meta Knight
Meta Knight (メタナイト, Meta Naito) is a video game character that appears in many Kirby games. His first appearance was in Kirby's Adventure, yet his name was not known in the US until Kirby's Avalanche. His mysterious nature has lead him playing more of a "friend or foe" role and less of an actual playable character throughout the Kirby series.
Meta-Knights
The Meta-Knights are a group of soldiers led by Meta Knight, who often uses them to test Kirby's skills throughout Kirby's Adventure, which is their first appearance. The Meta Knights include Axe Knight, Mace Knight, Javelin Knight, and Trident Knight. In the US, their names are Meta Axe, Meta Chain, Meta Droid, and Meta Lance. They are four distinct armored soldiers that each wield the weapon they're named for. Meta Axes move along the floor, swinging axes around, so attack them from behind; they don't turn around. Meta Chains swing their maces over their heads and shoots them out for considerable range and power. Meta Droids look like black pods that jumps around the room, and occasionally flashes and summons a spear to grab and spin with, until it discards it. Meta Lances moves forwards and backwards until it tosses an electrifed trident at you. He throws them where you are, so range is not important.
The Meta-Knights return in Kirby Super Star where they aided Meta Knight in his attempt to conquer Dream Land via his warship, the Halberd. As their first appearance was in Kirby's Adventure, the four knights also appear in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, the Game Boy Advance remake.
Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright
Mr. Shine & Mr. Bright are tag-team bosses (Much like Master & Crazy hand) first appearing in Kirby's Adventure at the end of Level 3, Butter Buildings. Mr. Shine appears as a crescent moon with a face and limbs, while Mr. Bright is a sun with similar features. As their type suggests, they love to fight tag-team style. One in the air will rain down beams or make stars falls for Kirby to spit out at the one on the ground, who will throw projectiles or try to ram into him.
Kirby's Dream Land 2 is quite a popular appearance for both of them because of their famous eclipse attack, where they both come together causing Mr. Shine to shade a small part of the area, giving Kirby little time to run there as fast as he can before Mr. Bright attacks with his burning heat. After both are defeated, they crash into each other in the background, making a fireworks display. Adeleine also paints Mr. Shine & Mr. Bright at the end of Cloudy Park in Kirby's Dream Land 3.
Mumbies
Mumbies are floating bandaged balls with glowing eyes, inspired by Egyptian mummies. They follow Kirby when he faces away from them like the Boos in the Super Mario series. They cannot be inhaled, so they must be defeated with other methods. They first appear in Kirby's Dream Land. In the extra game in Kirby's Dream Land, Mumbies are replaced by Skullers, which are like Mumbies but much faster. Skullers resemble the Skull enemies in the Adventures of Lolo series as well as other Eggerland games
Dark Matter used Mumbies as well in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, as useless henchmen.
Nago
Nago is a Japanese Bobtail and rolls Kirby in front of him like a ball. He has a triple-jump but cannot fly. He has a girlfriend who is a white cat called Shiro.
Nago never appeared in the anime, however he does appear on early design art.
Nightmare
Nightmare (ナイトメア) , also known as the Cloaked Nightmare according to the Star Rod trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee, is a fictional character featured in the Kirby series of video games. He was the ultimate villain of Kirby's Adventure, the franchise's sole Nintendo Entertainment System game, and was the final boss Kirby had to fight.
Paint Roller
Paint Roller is a fictional character from the Kirby video game franchise. It first appeared in Kirby's Adventure as the boss of Ice Cream Island in his classic canvas stage. [1] It guarded the second fragment of the Star Rod, as ordered by King Dedede.
Pitch the Bird
Pitch is perhaps the youngest, and the smallest of all the animal friends, even smaller than Kirby. While Kirby carries Pitch while they walk, Pitch will carry Kirby when he runs or flies but looked very strained when he does. Pitch is said to look up to and admire Coo, wanting to be as strong as he is when he grows up. Pitch's mother, a large pink bird, also appears in KDL3.
Poppy Bros.
Poppy Bros. are a species of creatures who wear jester clothing and throw bombs. They come in two varieties - Poppy Bros., which are far more common, and Poppy Bros. Sr., which are common mini-bosses. The only difference between these two types is size.
Ribbon
Ribbon is a fictional character featured in the Kirby series of video games. Her appearance is in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
Rick the Hamster
Rick is the first you encounter in Kirby's Dream Land 2. Kirby rides on his back and Rick can run, jump and climb walls, but he cannot fly. He has very good traction on ice and sand, making him very useful in frozen and desert levels. He has a girlfriend named Pick who wears a pink bow. You must bring Rick to her in a level in KDL3.
Rick appears as a minor character in the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! anime. He's very casual and often sarcastic, but doesn't seem to have a close friendship with Kirby. He lives with many other animals in Whispy Wood's forest, in a great tree called Acore.
Shadow Kirby
Shadow Kirby is the "mirror world" version of Kirby and pops out in every level from behind walls. He jumps around and then runs away. If Kirby can defeat him, he will get a power-up.
Shotzo
Shotzo is an indestructible enemy found in many Kirby games. They look like simple, round cannons that can shoot in multiple directions. Shotzo attacks by blasting volleys of cannonballs at Kirby at intervals, usually tracking his position slowly. Because of their slow pace, they usually aren't hard to dodge. They sometimes drift down from the sky attached to parasols.
Shotzo's distinct relatives include:
- Motor Shotzo, a less indestructible but mobile and mechanical Shotzo in Kirby Super Star
- Wall Shotzo, a Shotzo attached to a wall in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
- Flame Shotzo, a fire-shooting Shotzo in Kirby: Canvas Curse
- Blatzy, a faster version of Shotzo in Kirby's Dream Land, which is also the game that Shotzo originates from.
The Squeaks
The Squeaks (ドロッチェ団, Dorocche Dan (Dorocche Gang)) are fictional characters in the Kirby series of games created by Nintendo. They appear in the Nintendo DS game Kirby: Squeak Squad.
The Squeaks are a group of mice (or rats) who specialize in stealing things. They are after the treasure that is said to contain an ultimate power, which they steal from King Dedede's castle at the beginning of the game after Kirby defeats Dedede at the end of Level 1, Prism Plains. They are the main antagonists of the game, though they are not the true villains, for the true villain is Dark Nebula.
- Daroach
Daroach (Dorocche in the Japanese version) is the boss of the Squeaks. He is shown wearing a red hat and cape and often carries a magic wand in his hand. He is responsible for his gang's quest for the treasure that "grants you the ultimate power".
- Spinni
Spinni (Spin in the Japanese version) is a small, yellow mouse who wears red sunglasses, a red scarf, and orange shoes. She is noted for being the fastest member of the Squeaks on her feet. When Spinni appears, it's usually a race against her to see who can claim the treasure chest she's after first.
- Storo
Storo (Stron in the Japanese version) is a big, blue, bulky mouse wearing a red sleeveless shirt, a red pirate bandana, and a pirate patch. Being the largest of the crew, he is hard to topple, and any time he appears is usually a test to evade the hulking beast. His attacks involve smushing Kirby (i.e. hammer).
- Doc
Doc is a small white mouse with a green moustache wearing glasses with red swirls in them. He himself is very weak, so he mainly fights Kirby from inside a fast-moving UFO that he shoots lasers from a small satellite dish, blasts at Kirby with clouds of dust from a vaccumm cleaner-like machine, or drops bombs from a mechanical claw.
- Squeakers
Squeakers (Chulins in the Japanese version) are small mice that appear as backup for the Squeaks. They come in four colors; red, green, yellow, and blue. They appear to occupy the members of the Squeaks, but are the weakest members of the gang, which is why there are several of them. The yellow Squeakers just hop around after Kirby, the green ones are the bomb throwers which can be avoided easily, but the blue ones are possibly the most dangerous if not taken care of quickly. They throw massive bombs which don't detonate immediately, but when they do, the explosion is quite large. The red Squeakers only appeared in the cutscene after battling King Dedede, so officially, none have been seen on the field, or so to speak.
Tiff
Tiff, known in the Japanese version as Fumu (フーム, Fūmu), is a fictional character in the Kirby anime series.
She is the lead female character of the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! anime and is voiced by Sayuri Yoshida in the original Japanese version and Kerry Williams in the English dub. In both the pilot and final version of the anime, she is a friend of Kirby. She is noted for sporting pale yellow skin, pale yellow hair, and green eyes.
Tuff
Tuff, known in the Japanese version as (Bun (ブン, Bun) is a fictional character in the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! anime series. He is one of the lead male characters besides Kirby and is voiced by Rika Komatsu in the Japanese version and Tara Sands in the English dub. His English name is meant to sound like the word "tough".
Waddle Dee
Waddle Dee is a fictional character and species from Nintendo's Kirby franchise. Waddle Dees are some of the most common enemies in Kirby games and have appeared in nearly all of them, usually as enemies but occasionally as friends. One also appeared in Kirby: Canvas Curse as a playable character, unlocked by beating the game once.
Whispy Woods
Whispy Woods (ウイスピーウッズ ) is a fictional character from the Nintendo Kirby series. Generally he appears as a boss, usually the first one in many Kirby games. Whispy is a large apple tree whose most common attack is dropping apples from his branches, which damage Kirby on impact.
Whispy Woods has other creatures similar to it. The first of which is Twin Woods, which are two trees that look exactly like Whispy Woods, and the second is King Golem, which has a similar gameplay style to Whispy Woods.
