Unnecessary and mostly unhelpful template that has little chance of being expanded, is used on 3 articles total, and largely has the same purpose that Template:Donetsk has (that template is for all the urban districts of Donetsk City, which this is one of). Having these navboxes split alphabetically is not a useful navigational aid. Restricting in this way is abitrary, who is to say you would only want to look at all of thise beginning with "H" for example. In fact if you take "H" as an example, I think nearly all of the very few blue links link to the same article. This is not really good navbox practice. Best left for category navigation I think. --woodensuperman 15:34, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- Nominator's comment: I thought there had been one of these before - found it at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2023 June 22#Liberty ships templates. --woodensuperman 15:42, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
I'm invoking not everything needs a navbox (NENAN). This award is better suited for prose and maybe in infoboxes where career achievements are listed, but it doesn't need to be yet another navbox cluttering articles. SportsGuy789 (talk) 05:39, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- Keep User:SportsGuy789, I run into you at WP:CBBALL. That project makes conference players of the year a high priority. Thus, templates like
{{Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year navbox}}
are a high priority. This is a more exclusive template than that. It represents the single greatest athlete across all sports. I find it unfathomable that you could be a part of a project that thinks the basketball POY is an important focal point and yet not understand that the greatest single athlete of the year is not random clutter. Furthermore, why are you singling this out over similar templates such as{{ACC Athlete of the Year navbox}}
,{{Southeastern Conference Athlete of the Year navbox}}
.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 06:01, 26 February 2024 (UTC)- If this gets deleted, I plan to nominate the other Athletes of the Year on precedent. SportsGuy789 (talk) 15:50, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- Delete all awards navboxes. They are just clutter. --woodensuperman 15:45, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- That's not what is up for discussion. This is specific to Big Ten Athlete of the Year. That !vote is not concise enough for this TfD. SportsGuy789 (talk) 15:51, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- Keep, a helpful and easily navigated look at the premier athletes as recognized by peers and sources. And per TonyTheTiger. Nothing broken here and a well-designed and placed navbox. Randy Kryn (talk) 15:57, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
This is an atypical duplication of the {{Paradox Development Studio games}} navbox, but with the navigation elements (Various games developed) spaced out based on unverified (in the template at least) development periods. Even if these periods are correct, the template fails to account for overlap of development between entries of the same series, acting as if the release of a new game precludes any further development of a past entry. -- ferret (talk) 02:50, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
Purely exists to present a list of translations/transliterations. Wikipedia is not a dictionary. PepperBeast (talk) 02:02, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- Keep : This template functions in the similar way like those of Template:Infobox Tibetan-Chinese, Template:Infobox Russian term, Template:Infobox Hindu term, Template:Infobox Buddhist term, Template:Infobox Arabic term, Template:Infobox Chinese, and the template was used in 50+ articles. The deletion nominator removed the template from most of those articles, possibly because of WP:IDONTLIKETHEM.
