Créativité et Développement or C&D (English: Creativity and Development) was a French animation studio founded in 1987 by Jean Chalopin.[1] In April 1996, Chalopin sold the company, including its library to Saban International Paris (later renamed SIP Animation in 2002), the latter being folded in October 2001 into The Walt Disney Company through BVS Entertainment.

Legacy and Subsequent Ownership

The rights to very few of the C&D productions, which were absorbed by Saban International Paris in 1998, remained in the BVS Entertainment catalogue.

Saban Entertainment and C&D co-productions are owned directly by Disney through Saban's successor company, BVS Entertainment. It is estimated that some or all of the programs listed below are still owned by Disney as of November 2023, because Saban International Paris folding into BVS Entertainment.[9][10] Such as:

  • Michel Vaillant (Heroes On Hot Wheels)
  • Cupido
  • Botts / La Vie Des Bote

Mediawan Thematics currently owns the rights to most of the C&D productions. Such as:

  • The Twins of Destiny / Les Jumeaux du bout du monde [12]
  • The Adventures of T-Rex / Les Aventures de T-Rex [13]
  • Conan the Adventurer / Conan l'Aventurier [14]

  • Happy Ness: Secret of the Loch / Le Secret du loch Ness [17]

And other shows returned to their catalogues. Such as:
