Battle of Zealand Point

[edit]

It was the ships-of-the-line Stately and Nassau that were recorded as destroying the Prinds Christian Frederick at Zealand Point. The logbook of the sloop HMS Falcon (1802) records Falcon's presence along with Lynx and the frigate HMS Quebec. I do not know if there were any other ships in the offing.Viking1808 (talk) 18:07, 26 November 2010 (UTC) Article edited as aboveViking1808 (talk) 18:06, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Capture of Fortuna - 1806 or 1807??

[edit]

May I leave the possible edit of a misreading to Acad Ronin or other editor?

Quote "On 21 April 1807, Lynx recaptured the brig Providence, Edward Fox, Master.[38] Then on 20 April Lynx captured another Prussian vessel, Fortuna.[39]" Reference quoted "No. 16308". The London Gazette. 21 October 1809. p. 1674." reads to me that this Fortuna was captured on 29 April 1806, not 1807.
Perhaps Acad Ronin can check and edit if correct. It was also one of the many ships called Fortuna that I missed in listing at Fortuna (captured ships)(1805 - 1812) and if correct can be entered there. Viking1808 (talk) 17:50, 7 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong year. I have moved the item to the correct year, and added the info the Fortuna list.Acad Ronin (talk) 23:52, 7 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
