Naraha is a rural municipality in Siraha District in Province No. 2 of south-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 19,369 people living.[1] ith 9,303 males and 10,066 females. Out of total wards, ward number 3 had the largest population 4,734, while ward number 2 had least number of population with 4,734.
With respect to number of households, Naraha Rural Municipality had total 3,673 households. The ward number 3 had most households with total 870, while ward number 2 had least number of households with total 437 number of households. Mostly spoken language in Naraha is Maithili, which is spoken by 16,726 people. The Naraha has people who speak other languages, such as Urdu, Tharu, Uranw/Urau, Nepali, Newar, Tamang, Danuwar, Sunuwar, etc.Top five castes of people in Naraha Rural Municipality are Yadav (6,584), Musahar (3,196), Muslim (1,909), Koiri/Kushwaha (1,131) and Chamar/Harijan/Ram (1,038) with total population of 13,858, which forms 71.55 percent out of total population of 19,369 in Naraha Rural Municipality. Out of total population of 19,369, there were total 212 (1.09%) disabled persons in Naraha Rural Municipality with 116 (54.72%) males and 96 (45.28%) females. The physically disabled persons were 54, while mentally disabled people were 25 and intellectually disabled were 11.In Naraha Rural Municipality, there were total 183 houses, which were equiped with piped tap water resources while 3,047 houses were reported of having tubewell water facilities. Same as, 5 houses had covered well while 339 houses didn't have any cover on their tubewell. Other resources of water facilities were spout water (51) and river stream (3), which were reported of the household's source of water.out of 3,673 households in Naraha Rural Municipality, 1,039 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,568 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below. MobilePhone was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,012, while Bicycle was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,943.[2]
