Rahil (راحيل) was Jacob's wife and Joseph's mother. In one hadith, preserved in the exegesis of 'Ali b. Ibrahim al-Qummi, known as Tafsir al-Qummi, Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, peace be upon him, is reported to have said that "the sun" mentioned in Quran 12:4, which recalls Joseph telling his father about a dream in which he saw eleven stars, the sun and the moon prostrating themselves to him, esoterically refers to Rahil who, along with Jacob and his sons, would fall prostrate thanking God upon seeing Joseph in Egypt.
