We should have an article on every pyramid and every nome in Ancient Egypt. I'm sure the rest of us can think of other articles we should have.
Cleanup.
To start with, most of the general history articles badly need attention. And I'm told that at least some of the dynasty articles need work. Any other candidates?
Standardize the Chronology.
A boring task, but the benefit of doing it is that you can set the dates !(e.g., why say Khufu lived 2589-2566? As long as you keep the length of his reign correct, or cite a respected source, you can date it 2590-2567 or 2585-2563)
Stub sorting
Anyone? I consider this probably the most unimportant of tasks on Wikipedia, but if you believe it needs to be done . . .
Data sorting.
This is a project I'd like to take on some day, & could be applied to more of Wikipedia than just Ancient Egypt. Take one of the standard authorities of history or culture -- Herotodus, the Elder Pliny, the writings of Breasted or Kenneth Kitchen, & see if you can't smoothly merge quotations or information into relevant articles. Probably a good exercise for someone who owns one of those impressive texts, yet can't get access to a research library.

Parameter Is Not "hiro"
Hey, I am a Japanese Wikipedian who writes about Egyptology mainly in jawp. The name of the parameter "hiro" is OBVIOUSLY incorrect, since 2013. The exact name is "hiero", of course.
The man who didn't know so much about Egyptology imported this template into Jawp and continued mistaking it. I strongly request you guys to fix this problem. However, please notice that the parameter is being used as "hiro", thus changing it into "hiero" will make an error.
@Jonesey95: Thank you for your speedy responce. However, I strongly think that we should change EVERY article of Ancient Egypt that has "hiro". This is why I don't want to deal with this problem.
Keeping the mistaken parameter leads misunderstanding. I do not request YOU to do this work. Wikipedian who edits Egyptology article (and had used mistaken parameter continually) should do.--Sethemhat (talk) 14:25, 14 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. This is a volunteer project. Thus, I have to fix THIS PROBLEM in Japanese Wikipedia. I have a lot of things to do in my homewiki, so I have no time to care enwp.
My suggestion in enwp is just mercy. I have no responsibility for fixing enwp problem, but I thought I should say if someone could fix it.
I added a color to the template doc for Chinese deities. However, it has not become active in infoboxes with the "Chinese" type variable. It's been about a week, and as far as I can tell my syntax is error-free. Can someone please provide a solution? Zoozoor (talk) 14:22, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
