Early life

Hiba was born in Karachi to a Sindhi family on 10 April 1988.[1] She obtained her F.Sc from Jinnah Government College in Nazimabad.[citation needed]

Career

Debut and Success (2015-2018)

After making her acting debut in 2015 with a recurring role in Syed Mohammad Ahmed's Teri Meri Jodi,[3] Bukhari appeared in a supporting role of a cunning neighbor in 2016 in Iqra Aziz and Shehzad Sheikh's highly rated Choti Si Zindagi.[4]

In 2017, she appeared as the titular Bano in her first lead role in Geo TV's Bholi Bano alongside Syed Jibran and Arez Ahmed. The series was highly rated.[3][5] The same year, she played the leading role of a poverty-stricken working woman in Hum TV's soap opera Thori Si Wafa, for which she received the Hum Award for Best Soap Actress at the 6th Hum Awards.[3][6]

Her first role in 2018 was that of a mischievous college student in Silsilay opposite Junaid Khan earning her little recognition, and she later appeared in A-Plus TV's Haara Dil opposite Danish Taimoor.[7]

Deewangi and its recognition (2019-2020)

In 2019, she played the girl next door in Geo TV's Ramz-e-Ishq,[8] and later appeared in her breakthrough role as a headstrong bus hostess in Deewangi. The series marked her second on-screen appearance with Danish Taimoor and earned her a Lux Style Award for Best Television Actress nomination.[9][10][11]

She made her second appearance with Syed Jibran and Arez Ahmed in her only appearance in 2020 on Hum TV's Tarap, where she played a damsel in distress.[12][8]

Experimental roles and success (2021-present)

In 2021, she played a married woman with a past opposite Faysal Quraishi and Wahaj Ali in Geo TV's Fitoor.[11] It was followed by two unnoticed roles opposite Junaid Khan in A-Plus TV's Inteha e Ishq and ARY Digital's Berukhi.[13]

In 2022, she appeared as a determined Pashtun medical student in Geo TV's Meray Humnasheen.[14] The same year, her performance as a mother of two seeking divorce from her husband in Hum TV's Pehchaan received critical praise.[14][15] She then made her fifth on-screen appearance with real-life partner Arez Ahmed in Aan TV's Ishq Nahin Aasan.[12]

Her first role in 2023 was that of the sopilt daughter of a rich and influential father in ARY Digital's Tere Ishq Ke Naam opposite Zaviyar Nauman Ijaz and Usama Khan. Bukhari then appeared as a strong-headed school teacher in Hashim Nadeem's written Jhok Sarkar opposite Farhan Saeed.[16][17]
