Geographic extent

Did the govt. of the Roman Republic control the whole of the Papal States or just the environs of Rome? --Jfruh 18:35, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Population

The info box indicates a population of 15,000. This cannot be correct. The city of Rome alone must have had many times that number in 1850. 66.183.217.31 17:25, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are right. Rome alone had 150,000 inhabitants at that time. I guess the whole state, with Bologna and other big towns should be around 2-3 millions. --Gspinoza 21:56, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
