The Social Democratic Party (French: Parti Social-Démocrate) is a political party in Benin. Its candidate in the presidential elections of 4 and 18 March 2001, Bruno Amoussou, won 8.6 % of the popular vote in the first round and 15.9 % in the second round. The second round was boycotted by the main contenders. At the last legislative elections, 30 March 2003, the party was member of the Presidential Movement, the alliance of supporters of Mathieu Kérékou. It co-established inside this Movement the Union for Future Benin, that won 31 out of 83 seats. The party won at the presidential election of 5 March 2006 16.29 % of the votes for its candidate Bruno Amoussou.
