Location in Scotland from 2024

East Kilbride and Strathaven is a constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament.[1] Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, it will first be contested at the next general election.

The vast majority of the constituency comes from East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow.

The constituency will comprise the following wards of South Lanarkshire:[2]

And a section of Avondale and Stonehouse from the Lanark and Hamilton East constituency.

Candidates

The SNP selected candidate is Grant Costello, and it is expected that the Labour candidate will be Joani Reid, granddaughter of Jimmy Reid, who was selected for the predecessor seat.[3]
