Southampton blog removal controversy
The removal of the link of the blog has made the West University Examiner, a local Houston newspaper: http://www.examinernews.com/articles/2007/03/07/west_university/news/news05.txt WhisperToMe 04:18, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Hey, Postoak, if you wish, you may contact the editor of the newspaper and explain this as well :) WhisperToMe 06:06, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Why should I do this? Postoak 06:10, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Good Article Nomination
I went ahead and nominated Climate of Houston for Good Article status. You might want to look the page over and edit it a bit so we have a better chance of getting nominated. — JuWiki (Talk <> Resources) 15:32, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll try to give it a look sometime today. Thanks, Postoak 19:30, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Great article, but I have some concerns with the "Pollution and Global Warming" section. It has no references and there are several claims that should have a reference. Postoak 21:07, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Also, "Heat strokes are common in the city during summer" should have a reference. Postoak 21:30, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- I added some references. I don't have much else to add, so you could find some references (if we need any). — JuWiki (Talk <> Resources) 23:08, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- I tempered down the global warming claims and revised the paragraph a little. The effects of global warming are highly debatable, so I hope you don't mind that I did this. The section was renamed to "Environmental issues" because both air and water pollution is mentioned. You might consider removing the references to water pollution bacause they are unrelated to climate. Unfortunately, the references you provided may get questioned since they point to generic sources and are not specific (i.e. the "Lonely Planet" link does not support your claim). I'll see what I can find later, but please try to clarify some of these if you have the time. Thanks, Postoak 00:25, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- Reference 22 should point to an external link that lists the temperature history since 1986 if possible. Thanks, Postoak 00:33, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- Are you OK with the changes to the last paragraph? You might want to find out if referencing other Wikipedia articles is acceptable. The information you are referencing can (and will) get changed. For example, see ref 6 which references the Geography of Houston article. Postoak 18:53, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

PLEASE HELP
I do not wish to have my comments associated with this site any longer. I have tried several times to remove the comments on the mytalk section and the "Sugar Land Discussion" page. The comments are reverted with out comment from the person who is in contorl of it.
Thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sugar Land Relocation (talk • contribs) 01:06, 21 March 2007 (UTC).
- The talk page is public record, more or less. Removing any discussion from a talk page is considered disruptive. It is a common practice of all editors to restore any removed comments from the talk page, so nobody is doing anything wrong when they do this. I have archived to talk page. Personally, I wish that you would come back and continue to be an editor here. It does take a while to become familiar with policy and protocol here. I'm very sorry that you are leaving. Tired of the Harassment
I should have thought of what I was posting before I entered the post on the discussion board. Since then I have received several threats, spams, and other unwanted messages from people upset at my comments. People who seem look at this girl as a figure of reverence. It is not hard to find me, my company, my home, my phone number etc. I understand you have a commitment to protecting the integrity of tht Wiki porject but do I have any right to my privacy? Safety? This was the only site where I have mentioned the opinion I had regarding this person and the tragedy. I am a father of three young children and very concerned about my safety due what I posted last night. PLEASE HELP! Youth have a way of maintaining a fervor like no other. I do not want to end up in a legal issue dealing with those who gained my information from this site or generated energy from what I posted. Again I am asking, no PLEADING, please remove my comments, or please pass this along to someone in charge of the discussion area and plea my case.

- First of all, you voiced your opinion just like anyone else here. You have NOT done anything wrong. Voicing your opinion on the talk age was the right thing to do. If someone has threatened you and you have documentation of this, then Wikipedia will investigate. I'm not an administrator and I'm not sure if an administrator can delete your posts, but I will certainly find out. Take care, Postoak 04:05, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- It looks like Wikipedia cannot delete any of your edits. You can change your username or delete your user/talk page. Please see Wikipedia:Changing username and Wikipedia:User page#How do I delete my user and user talk pages?. I hope this helps. Postoak 04:42, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Postoak,
I'm trying to start my own wiki, and I thought you might be intrested. Please vote on it here! Thanks — JuWiki (Talk <> Resources) 21:56, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Fighting vandalism
Hello, Postoak! Thank you for reverting vandalism to Wikipedia, which you did in Seven Wonders of the World. After you revert, I would recommend also warning the users whose edits you revert on their talk pages with an appropriate template or custom message. This will serve to direct new users towards the sandbox, educate them about Wikipedia, and a stern warning to a vandal may prevent him or her from vandalizing again. Thanks! --Kralizec! (talk) 04:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, sometimes I overlook this. Postoak 04:37, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank You
Thank you for reverting the vandalism to my user page. I knew I was dealing with a vandal who might get abusive when warned, but it's hard to be watching for trouble 24/7. Thanks! Rickterp 17:08, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Regarding edits to Knucklebones
Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Postoak! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule \bfreewebs\.com\/.+, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Shadowbot 03:57, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, Shadowbot removed a pre-existing link and then restored vandalism that was removed. This bot has issues. Postoak 04:05, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

I don't want to get killed but...
Please don't kill me, but I feel that every single argument about the removal of the "1 of 11" from the Houston article is identical in the case of Dallas. This is why I removed it from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex article. Unless, I guess, you're making the differences that one is a metropolitan area and the other a city proper.--Loodog 15:08, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

San Antonio
There has been a disagreement in the lead section of San Antonio regarding it as a city part of the American Southwest. In the past, no one has disputed on the San Antonio article that it is not part of the Southwest until now—by 68.201.118.165 (a.k.a Mphifer254) who also disputed that the Houston area is not part of East Texas. Please watch the changes/talk page of San Antonio and join the discussion should there be one. —RJN 00:45, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- There is now an active discussion on Talk:San Antonio, Texas regarding the American Southwest issue. When you get a chance, please stop by immediately and join the discussion. Thanks! —RJN 05:20, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

- Apparently so :) Postoak 02:58, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
