Earl Webb

Earl Webb (September 17 1897 - May 23 1965) was a former outfielder and part-time first basemen from 1925 to 1933. He played for a number of teams including the Boston Red Sox for 3 years. He was born in Bon Air, Tennessee and died in Jamestown, Tennessee. To this day, he holds the record for most doubles in a season with 67 in 1931 with the Red Sox. He had an all-time batting average of .306 with 56 home runs, averaging 14 a year. He also was 2nd in the league in extra base hits in [[1931] with 84.
He batted left-handed, and threw right-handed.
