On May 30, 2024, a mass shooting occurred in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.[1] Four people were killed, including a police officer who responded to the incident.[2][3]
Incident
The incident took place beginning at about 5:30 p.m. CST near Blaisdell Avenue and West 22nd Avenue in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis.[1]
A police officer and two people were killed. At least six people were injured by gunfire.[1]
Victims
Minneapolis police officer Jamal Mitchell (36 year old) was killed. An unnamed bystander was also killed. At least four others, including another officer, are injured.[4][5]
Perpetrator
The alleged shooter was killed during the incident.[1]
