Delete unattributed photos

[edit]

The scanned or photographed photos need to have attribution for inclusion- each has names of the subjects in the files, but the origin is not included, so copyright issues cannot be determined.Parkwells (talk) 17:40, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Needs more sources

[edit]

Much of this article is nearly verbatim from a blog by Jesse Bowman Bruchac, who has taught Abenaki and written about eastern tribes. Additional sources are needed, and Bruchac's article should be cited as a source. It has few footnotes, leaving this article weak.Parkwells (talk) 19:55, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also a reminder that self-published claims from the organization's own website cannot be used as a citation in this article. Please read WP:SELFPUBLISHED. Yuchitown (talk) 14:59, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We have a right to self publish as we are a historically recognized organization and we are properly representing that historical claim. Rtshawnee (talk) 20:49, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome to publish anything you like on your website. WP:SELFPUBLISHED refers to how Wikipedia treats self-published websites, and why secondary, published material by third-parties is necessary for verifiable citations. Yuchitown (talk) 21:47, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Properly Cited

[edit]

Our enrollment requirements and our historical citations are accurate and valid. We cite the HJR passed in our honor by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as our historical documentation to enroll who we please per our own rules. Rtshawnee (talk) 20:48, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Other Organizational Opinons are NOT valid

[edit]

The opinion of the Absentee Shawnee is not valid and should not be published on our wikipedia page as a rebuttal as there is no basis for rebuttal to begin with. We are a historically recognized heritage organization, and we can call ourselves what we like. Rtshawnee (talk) 20:51, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Just received the following email from Rtshawnee. Yuchitown (talk) 21:45, 1 June 2024 (UTC) "Stop vandalizing our Wikipedia page... Leave our enrollment information ALONE. It's probably cited. I am removing the Absentee comments once more. I will have our lawyer contact you if you would like to discuss these edits. We will fight back.." -- This email was sent by user "Rtshawnee" (<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Rtshawnee>) on the English Wikipedia to user "Yuchitown". A Tribal council will be scheduled to discuss the escalation of the legal threat to some sort of civil legal action. This Yuchitown insists on listing the Absentee Shawnee's propaganda on our page because of unrecognized tribal and racial prejudices. This is also a form of bullying that we will not stand for. I request that Yuchitown REMOVE the Absentee Shawnee statement from our Wiki.. you have 24 hours to comply. Rtshawnee (talk) 18:14, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
