It would be very useful to be emailed, but that is your call, one way or other... JarrahTree 01:37, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tasmania

is far becoming WP:NOTGALLERY territory - please note that it may well soon be pruned of the number of photographs. JarrahTree 08:40, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I think I was getting too comfortable with trying to "get the Tasmania page to be more similar to other state pages". I completely understand, and will restrict myself to only high-quality and informative images from Commons. --Mairremena (talk) 09:05, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The fault is wikipedia wide - countries or cities in Asia are like advertising galleries before article - take care of items in the captions - where there are coloured links (maybe brown or fawn in colour) - it means that the title needs to be disambiguated - to a specific link. JarrahTree 09:33, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I will certainly keep that in mind now! Unfortunately, I was using other island divisions (like Hokkaido in Asia) as examples (as well as the rest of Australia, Canada, and Europe) when I was editing Tasmania. Perhaps it could be better that there should be a certain amount of text before there is an ascribed image put to it? --Mairremena (talk) 09:39, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

there's the rub - that's a point between - where some practices work - and others dont get adequately resolved. Then there are also rules that are implemented, while some areas are negotiable. Not really interested in giving chapter and verse here of the last ten years on that one, maybe when I am in Hobart sometime over a coffee or beer. Its a mixture of tedium, hohum, and geewhiz. Thanks

for recent edits on Tasmanian items - always appreciated... JarrahTree 05:16, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Mairremena (talk) 05:29, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Beware! WP:NOTGALLERY can jump up like a rabid devil in the dark of the night without warning JarrahTree 02:37, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yep I was thinking of doing a bit of clean up and summarisation after getting some of the main stuff down. It feels like a fine line of what's relevant in the moment Mairremena (talk) 02:56, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the chook runs need very good tough wiring to keep the devils out... Hobart is almost too big as an article, for instance... reality and metaphors mixing horribly... I get nostalgic for the snow on the mountain... and air that feels like freezing is too polite a word... JarrahTree 03:02, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

the quality of the article

it is fine, and in fact better than quite a few Hobart and region articles - and could uncontroversialy return to main space - there is nothing in view of what it looks like now that is suspect. Adequate usage of Trove and other forms of reliable sources is obvious - https://trove.nla.gov.au/search?keyword=cat%20and%20fiddle%20arcade%20hobart - well done! Thank you so much! Clearly still very new and unsure about a lot of wiki stuff (still mainly a reader), so little nods of direction are helping me find stuff out over time. Mairremena (talk) 12:32, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
