Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is an upcoming American supernatural horror film and the second instalment in the Five Nights at Freddy's film series, which is based on the video game series of the same name created by Scott Cawthon. It is the sequel to the 2023 film, Five Nights at Freddy's, and is set to be released by Universal Pictures on December 5, 2025.

Production

Development

A sequel was confirmed to be in development by Josh Hutcherson, the actor who portrayed the role of Mike Schmidt in the first film.[1]

Casting

Actor Matthew Lillard, who portrayed William Afton in the first film, is expected to reprise his role after previously confirming that he signed a three-picture deal with the studios.[2]

Release

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 5, 2025.[3][4]
