Myx (/ˈmɪks/, stylized as MYX or myx) is a Philippine pay TV channel based in Quezon City, owned by Creative Programs Inc., a subsidiary of ABS-CBN Corporation. The channel is targeted to youth audiences and primarily airs music videos. It was introduced via Studio 23 (now S+A) in 2000, ABS-CBN's UHF broadcast television network which offered some of its programs during early morning, afternoon and late evening blocks. In 2002, MYX was launched as a stand-alone 24-hour music channel on cable and digital terrestrial TV and on free TV operates 18 to 20 hours a day from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM from Tuesdays to Saturdays and from 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM from Sundays and Mondays in all MYX Regional Channel provincial TV stations Nationwide, (except for Holy Week of every year will off-air from 12:00 AM of Maundy Thursday until Black Saturday and back on-air on Easter Sunday at 6:00 AM and 24-hour special broadcast during Christmas and New Year's Day). Myx is now to serve you for News and Information Program is called MYX News Channel (formerly Solar News on MYX and MYX Channel News) is were Grand Launch on August 12, 2013 until August 31, 2020 is produced by Cheer Chaos Media Integrated News, CNN Philippines and ABS-CBN News.
Myx headquarters, studios and channel transmitter are situated located at ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center Sgt. Esguerra Ave. corner Mother Ignacia St., Barangay South Triangle, Diliman, Quezon City and Cheer Chaos Media Broadcast Commercial Complex, along Shaw Boulevard corner Donna E. Pedracles Street, Barangay Wack-Wack Greenhills, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City. Myx is the Number 1 music channel in the Philippines owned and operated by: Crashing Broadcasting Network, Inc. with blocktime agreement operated with ABS-CBN Corporation and Cheer Chaos Media Corporation. Myx is now on Free TV via UHF Channel 66 in Metro Manila (analog broadcast) and Channel 16 (digital broadcast) and over 43 owned-and-operated stations Nationwide with MYX Regional Channel and on cable via 300 MYX Cable Channel Stations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The final broadcast of Myx on Studio 23 last January 16, 2014 to replaced the New Sports and Action Channel on Free TV called S+A last January 18, 2014. This channel is also known as special coverage for NBA, WNBA (until 2021), news coverage, religious program and block-time programs is airing on free TV.
History
Myx was first aired on November 20, 2000, on ABS-CBN's sister television network, Studio 23 (now S+A). It was intended to be the replacement of MTV Philippines. It aired on Studio 23 during daytime hours.
In June 2002, ABS-CBN merged Myx on channel 23 with the then-top-rated music cable channel, VID-OK. The Myx name was retained but with VID-OK's style of playing music videos with lyrics.
On December 1, 2013, ABS-CBN Corporation, Nine Media Corporation and Cheer Chaos Media Corporation will be launched MYX Goes Nationwide on Free Television broadcasting with 14 MYX Regional Channel owned and operated stations and 26 MYX Regional Channel relay and affiliate stations Nationwide. Myx is launched for the News and Music channel on cable called MYX News Channel on August 29, 2016 is the hook-up news programs and shows on Myx aired on SkyCable Channel 58 and Sky Direct Channel 69. MYX News Channel was off-air last August 31, 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, ABS-CBN Shutdown (due to the Cease and Desist Order issued to NTC) and ABS-CBN Franchise Renewal was denied by the Congress of the Philippines.
On July 11, 2019, Myx launched a secondary YouTube channel called All Music Myx which features uploads of Myxclusive performances of artists from the Myx archives. On September 8, 2019 Myx was moved on UHF Channel 66 in Metro Manila, Cebu City and Davao City due to lack of personalities of Creative Programs and Nine Media Corporation will simulcast on CNN Philippines (formerly Solar News Channel and 9TV); former MYX channel on UHF Channel 55 for to the preparation of the DTV transition implementation (UHF Channel 55 Manila, Cebu and Davao stations owned by People's Broadcasting Network; this is the former channel of MYX from December 1, 2013 to September 7, 2019). MYX Regional stations in Metro Manila, Baguio, Ilocos Norte, Dagupan, Batangas, Puerto Princesa (Palawan), Naga, Legazpi, Cebu, Bacolod, Boracay, Davao, General Santos, Zamboanga, Cagayan De Oro and Butuan now is owned and operated by Crashing Broadcasting Network, Inc. with formerly stations (Disney Channel Philippines, Disney Club TV and Disney News TV).
On January 16, 2014, Myx stopped airing on Studio 23 when the channel was renamed to ABS-CBN Sports and Action (S+A). In 2018, it was added to the ABS-CBN TV Plus digital terrestrial platform on channel 12; ABS-CBN TV Plus shut down in 2020 when the company's broadcasting franchise expired without renewal.
In June 2021, Myx in the Philippines and its international version adopted a common logo, introduced internationally the year before, and merged their digital assets.
In July 2021, as part of the partnership between ABS-CBN Entertainment and TV5/Cignal, Cignal added Myx and its sister channel Cinema One to its channel line-up as a free trial and later as "add-ons" for lower plans.[1]
After 8 years from now; MYX Goes Nationwide on Free Television it has ceased its commercial operations on the night of Thursday, September 9, 2021, right after its final program Mellow MYX, a video presentation was shown, Goodbye To You by Michelle Branch as the final song of this music channel on terrestrial broadcasting, the final station notice and the playing of the Philippine national anthem. At the end of it, the station thanked its viewers for the past 8 years on-air. The station officially closed down at around 12:20 AM. On the following day; an unnamed station aired and used the words "Test Broadcast" on the supposed position of the MYX and Cheers TV logo. On September 11-12, 2021 the station was temporarily off-air and the official countdown for the newest channel. On September 13, 2021 at exactly 5:00 AM is the official relaunch called Cheer Chaos TV is the 3rd UHF television station of Crashing Broadcasting Network, Inc., Cheer Chaos Media Corporation and ABS-CBN Corporation and the tagline of this station is called "Cheers Together Kumpleto!". Cheers TV is programming for news, information, entertainment, music, movies, informative, sports and religious programming for the cheering people viewers.
VJs and hosts
Myx has produced some of the most popular VJs in the country, including Lourd de Veyra, Luis Manzano, Geoff Eigenmann, Heart Evangelista, Nikki Gil, Bernard Palanca, and Iya Villania. Since 2007, Myx has produced the annual Myx VJ Search with the aim of searching the country's best VJs; the finalists will be given the chance to be a VJ on Myx. MYX only has one VJ left—Samm Alvero; the channel previously had more, but after losing the broadcast franchise, the other VJs were laid off as part of corporate retrenchment at ABS-CBN.[2] TMYX it has four upcoming VJs will be relaunched this year; these are Charlie Dizon, Criza Taa, Anji Salvacion and Sabine Ysabelle Cerrado.
Programming
Myx programming consists primarily of themed blocks of music videos and music chart shows, as well as concerts, events, and live performances. In addition, the station airs several additional programs, among them the talk show I Feel U, hosted by Toni Gonzaga,[3] and the talk show We Rise Together, featuring artists from the ABS-CBN-owned Rise Artists Studio.[4] It airs on MYX every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 7:00am and 8:00pm.[5]

International
In 2007, Myx TV (originally launched simply as Myx) was launched in the United States. The American counterpart of Myx was originally intended to cater the Asian-American youth community in United States and with music video as its primary content. It was later reformatted to become a general-entertainment channel targeted to the Asian-American diaspora. Myx TV is operated independently from its Filipino counterpart with some of its programming produced in the United States by ABS-CBN International and by other third-party production companies.
