Diamond Barmer (born June 25, 2001), known professionally as DEETRANADA, is an American rapper. She is most known for her appearance on season 3 of The Rap Game as one of the five contestants.

Diamond Barmer was born June 25, 2001 in Baltimore, Maryland to Mr. and Mrs. Barmer. As a kid, Diamond was bullied and that pushed her into music.

When she reached 7th grade, Diamond decided to enter her talent show. In it, she impressed her peers with her fast and freestyle rhymes and doing so over the beat of YG's Who Do You Love. It was at this point that she realized that if everyone thought that she was this good, she could make a career out of doing what she already does. That year (in 2014), she began to upload freestyle videos of herself to her YouTube account.

Career

Big break?: Season 3 of Jermaine Dupri's "The Rap Game", when she was 15 (2017). With her family's support. Did not win but got 2nd place.

Why did she choose the stage name: DEETRANADA (Billboard)
- Inspired by Kaytranada. Deetra means "de-transform from the nothing mind that I used to have in myself." Nada part of her name is her saying "now the whole world is mine."

In 2017, Deetranada got her "big break" into the music industry by appearing on Season 3 of Jermaine Dupri's, The Rap Game. She appeared on the show alongside her older brother and manager, Platinum J.

She mentioned that throughout the run of the show, her Instagram follower count increased by 30K monthly. This allowed her account gaining just over 200K from appearing on the show. As originally, she started out with a little over 1,000 Instagram followers. Out of all the season 3 contests, gained the most followers despite not winning the show or gaining the record deal.
