2) Interior Objects

3) Lighting

4) Tools

5) Saving

6) Questions?

Interactive Objects

What is an interactive object? Well, interactive objects are basically objects that move on their own accord. Doors, and elevators are NOT interactive objects. Examples of interactive objects would be: inventories, turrets, lights (more later), teleports, ect.

Interactive objects are objects that require power before they will work. If you deploy one of these objects without first deploying a generator within range, you will notice it disappears. If these objects do not have a generator within range at any time, they will disappear. The different types of generators are:
  • Generator
  • Portable generator
  • Solar Panel
  • Large Solar Panel

There is no limit to the amount of power any of these can supply. For example, a generator can handle an infinite amount of objects, while at the same time, a portable generator can handle an infinite amount of objects. Once your generator is in place, you will be able to deploy interactive objects. Some of the most common interactive objects are:

  • Inventory Stations
  • Supply Stations
  • Command Stations
  • Lights
  • teleports

Now, use of interactive objects is not limited to the team you are on in Modx. So, if you use a series of teleporters in your building, then, anyone, on any team will be able to use them.

Interior Objects

So, what are interior objects. Well, these could be described as the “backbone” of most builds. These do not require power, and, are usually cement. This is also the home of premade builds. You will find the same building as you do on broadside in this list. By far, one of the most widely used objects is the iblock. This versatile block can be used for almost anything. You will find this group absolutely essential in ANY build that is worth looking at.

Tools

Well, the most important things you have. I will go through these one by one.

Creator. This is what lets you deploy objects. You aim, and, fire, the object deploys there.

Object manipulator. This lets you move objects.

Copier. See an object you like? Aim, fire, switch to creator, and deploy it

Deletor. Made a mistake? Aim, fire, delete.

Warper. Aim at a position, and, fire. It instantly “warps” you there.

Saving

Well, before you can save, you must first have the modx Client script. It can be downloaded at www.cmx.2ya.com .

To save: First, build something, then, simply type !save (slot #) (name) without the (‘s.

To restore, just type !restore Slot#

This is the most important feature. This allows you to work on objects over long periods of time, and save in case of server reset or crash.

Questions

All questions not answered here can be answered at cmx.2ya.com . Or you can e-mail KoD at abungard@msn.com . He will normally help you out.

All other questions should be answered at the modx forums: www.cmx.2ya.com
