Yew (minuscule: և; Armenian: և) is the 37th letter of the reformed Armenian alphabet. It consists in a ligature of the letters Yech (ե) and Hyun (ւ). The letter Yew was de facto used before the ortography reform, but it wasn't part of the alphabet. Unlike many letters in the Armenian alphabet, it doesn't have a numerical value.[1]
It represents the [ɛv] sound, but at the beginning of the word, it is pronounced as [jɛv].[2][3]
