History
BKSP Public School & College is a traditional educational institution established by BKSP on January 1, 1987, in a pleasant environment within BKSP. This institution is managed by a special committee under Article 49. In the 1987 academic year, it started offering education from classes I to V. Later, classes VI to VIII were introduced, followed by classes IX and X in stages followed by XI and XII classed were introduced on 2023.[1] The school was approved as an MPO at the lower secondary level on October 1, 1994, and at the secondary level on March 30, 2009. Senior military officers of the Bangladesh Army directly manage the institution, with the head being a former officer of the Bangladesh Army. The organization is committed to spreading the light of knowledge.[2]
Academic Excellency
Due to a gradual increase in student numbers, in 2011, the primary wing was divided into a morning session and the secondary wing into a day session. Every year, the school ranks prominently in the list of best institutions in Dhaka district (including Savar, Dohar, Keraniganj, Nawabganj, and Dhamrai upazilas) for PEC, JSC, and SSC examinations. In the Primary Education Completion exam, the school has consistently achieved a significant number of students with GPA-5.00 in Savar Upazila. A significant number of students also achieve GPA-5.00 every year, with a 100% pass rate in the Primary Education Completion, JSC, and SSC examinations. With the tireless efforts of the school managing committee and teachers, and the active support of parents.[2]
Campus
The campus is located at Zirani Bazar, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and falls under the jurisdiction of the Dhaka Education Board. The campus includes a six-story academic building among other tin-shaded classrooms. Another six-story building is currently under construction, with three stories completed so far, where the college section's classes are held. The campus also features a canteen, a playground, facilities for cold drinking water, and many other amenities. Additionally, the campus offers a variety of resources and facilities to support the academic and extracurricular needs of its students, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.[3]
Academics
The school offers classes from Nursery to 12th grade and has separate sections for male and female students (varies). Sections for grades 6 to 9 are named after Bangladesh freedom fighters: BMR and BHR for male students, and BMK and BMJ for female students. [4]
However, in 10th grade, sections are divided by subject. Galilei is for male science students, and Gates is for female science students. Bhashani and Buffet are combined classes, with Bhashani for humanities students and Buffet for commerce students.
The college section uses simple alphabetical names, A through D.
