Sohbatpur District (Template:Lang-ur) is a district in the Pakistani province of Balochistan.
It was created in May 2013 from parts of Jafarabad District.[2]
The district has a population of over 240‚000.
Administration
Sohbatpur District consists of the following Tehsils:
- Manjhipur;
- Hairdin;
- Faridabad; and
- Sohbatpur.
The district borders the Naseerabad, Jafarabad and Dera Bugti districts of Balochistan, and Jacobabad and Kashmore districts of Sindh.
The district has eight police stations.
Demographics
In the 2023 census, Islam was the predominant religion with 98.99%, while Hindus constituted 0.75% of the population.[4]
At the time of the 2023 census, 67.39% of the population spoke Balochi, 17.63% Sindhi, 7.92% Brahui and 6.38% Saraiki as their first language.[5]
