Zakari Seidu, a musician popularly known by his stage name Zed Ay Kay was born in London, and hails from Bawku in the Upper East Region[1] of Ghana on his paternal side, and Shama in the Western Region on his maternal side. Currently residing in Ghana, Zed Ay Kay started his schooling at St. Bernadette Soubirous School[2] in Dansoman, followed by secondary schooling at St. Augustine’s College, and then to Central University College. He finished his studies in France, reading for a degree at Universite de Caen.[3]

It was during his time at St. Augustine’s College[4] that his love for music and performance was affirmed. It was also during this time that he, together with a friend formed the group Replay as a duo. As part of Replay [together with former school mate Jiggy, who would go on to win Season 10 Edition of X-Factor (Italy) with Soul System], Zed Ay Kay co-recorded an album SENORITA.  Following the recording of the SENORITA album, Zed Ay Kay embarked on a solo career, releasing a number of singles and experimenting with different genre whiles staying true to his unique style. This culminated in the February 2021 release of his debut solo album VERSATILITY.[5]

The album Versatility was positively reviewed by Ghana Music, which explained that it had several strong songs that may lead him to be more mainstream and was a successful debut album, but thought the album should focus more on themes other than love.[6]
