Muhammad Ismail Darwish (محمد إسماعيل درويش), also known as Abu Omar Hassan, is the next chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau since August 2024, replacing Ismail Haniyeh.[1][2][3][4][5] He served as the chairman of the Hamas Shura Council from October 2023 until August 2024, succeeded Osama Mazini, after his killing on 16 October 2023 by Israeli strike.
