After the release of the hit song, "Carnival", which featured Playboi Carti, the superduo kept close ties with him.[2] The song leaked in early 2024, under the names "Field Trip" and "Venom". Some versions did not feature Kodak Black, who was added later, while American rapper Lil Durk was initially featured. However, he was reportedly excluded from the song after allegedly sending in a verse with lyrics directed at West.[3] Despite this, Durk was featured on the thirteenth track of the album, "Dead", along with American rapper Future.
Critical reception
Billboard ranked "Field Trip" as the best song on Vultures 2. They wrote, "If there's one V2 track to bet on following in the footsteps of "Carnival" and making a surge up the Billboard charts in the coming weeks, "Field Trip" is where your money should go."[4]
