Mystic Whaler

Mystic Whaler is a gaff-rigged schooner owned and operated by Central Coast Ocean Adventures[1] (CCOA). Launched in 1967 the ship spent her first 25 years operating in the northeast. In 2021 she was purchased and relocated to Southern California by CCOA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to making engaging adventure-inspired learning and the extraordinary Santa Barbara Channel more accessible to the communities of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. Mystic Whaler's programs focus on social-emotional development, environmental responsibility, nautical skills training, and enriching STEAM and history education, primarily for youth ages 10 – 18 years old. Programs are offered to schools, community-based organizations, families, and the public. Mystic Whaler is also available for corporate team-building retreats and public education sails both of which help to support its educational programs for local youth.
