Shortcuts

If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

  • To list a technical request: edit the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason: 
    {{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
    This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
  • If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
  • If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

@Ortizesp: I'm not sure the common name is necessarily clear here, although I agree it shouldn't be at the current title. I see "Godfrey Bitok Stephen" ([1]), "Godfrey Bitok" ([2]), and "Godfrey Stephen" ([3]). It looks like "Godfrey Bitok Stephen" appears the most. C F A 💬 22:59, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sri Harsha Bhogi The article currently doesn't seem to support Potol as being the primary English-language name. The article only features pointed gourd as an alternative title, and mentions "potol" only as a transliteration of the Bengali word. --Ahecht (TALK

Any idea why? "Potol" isn't just it's Bengali name. It's used for this species in the publications in multiple languages including English. --SriHarsha Bhogi (talk) 16:08, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I approached someone who knows someone there and inquired if a name change is in order to better coincide with the name in Hebrew. They replied in favor of the name change. --Omer Toledano (talk) 15:18, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. I simply think that "Brothers and Sisters in Arms" is more reflective of the name in Hebrew. -- Omer Toledano (talk) 18:28, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Omert33 Moved to contested due to WP:COI concerns - COI moves are automatically controversial. IMO, "knowing somebody who knows somebody" is still a connection and makes this a first-party request. (On that note, thanks for your honesty. It's better to have a discussion to ensure the intended title remains in-place) ASUKITE 15:13, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
