Dianbai is a subordinate county of Maoming City in South China's Guangdong Province.The origin of the name of the electric white is because of the thunder and lightning in the ancient weather, Sui Dynasty Kaihuang nine years (AD 589), the merger of electric white, Haichang two counties set up Dibai County, electric white since the county said, 2014, approved by The State Council, revoked Maogang District and Dibai County establishment, the merger set up Dibai District. Dianbai District's tourism resources include China's first beach, romantic coast, Agarwood street, Yushui ancient hot spring, Fangji Island Hutou Mountain and so on.
History
1.Wild times
Civilization in the Dianbai area began as early as the Neolithic Age, and archaeological findings show that there are remains of human activities here. However, because there are not enough historical objects, there is currently no way to restore the cultural situation at that time. Perhaps there is no way to record this area at that time.
2. Qin and Han Dynasties
After the unification of Lingnan area in Qin Dynasty, Dianbai area was gradually brought under the control of Central Plains regime. Dianbai belongs to Nanhai County, which became part of the administrative division of early China. In the Han Dynasty, with the development of the Maritime Silk Road, Dianbai, as a coastal area, gradually participated in maritime trade.
3. Tang and Song Dynasties
In the Tang and Song dynasties, the maritime trade in Maoming and Dianbai areas became more prosperous and became one of the important ports of foreign trade in the southeast coast of China. During this period, the development of Dianbai mainly relied on Marine resources and foreign trade, and fishing and salt industry also became an important part of the local economy.
4. Ming and Qing Dynasties
In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Dianbai area was still one of the important coastal areas of Guangdong, especially in the Ming Dynasty to resist the invasion of Japanese pirates, Dianbai area was an important defense front. During the Qing Dynasty, with the economic development of the whole country, Dianbai's agriculture, salt industry and fishery continued to maintain steady development, and ethnic culture in the region gradually formed.
5. Recent history
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Dianbai, like many coastal areas of the country, was influenced and impacted by Western powers. After the Opium War, the coastal areas of Guangdong, where Dianbai is located, became the front line of conflict between China and the West. At the same time, the overseas Chinese culture also had an important impact during this period, and many electric whites went overseas to make a living.Dianbai absorbed Maoming's former Maogang District on 23 February 2014.
