The result of the move request was: No consensus to change the primary topic. The recent bold split of Fergie and Fergie (disambiguation) was also questioned, and seems dubious, so will revert that too. It can be discussed separately if anyone wants to resurrect it. — Amakuru (talk) 15:16, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. The singer is the most popular article with the name, but it still gets less than half of the outgoing traffic from Fergie ([1]), so it's not the primary topic with respect to usage. Now that we're here, am I the only one who doesn't see the point of the recent split between Fergie and Fergie (disambiguation)? – Uanfala (talk)13:07, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support per WP:PRIMARYUSAGE. The singer gets thousands of pageviews per day, compared to 89 for the name (formerly dab) page and 32 for the only other article on WP that would actually be titled "Fergie", Fergie (DJ). The number of dab page views is somewhat high, and it looks like a significant majority of dab page viewers want the singer. The next largest (and only significant} number want Sarah, Duchess of York, who should be linked directly from a hatnote. Right now, we're causing 60+ readers per day to needlessly wind up on a dab page. Station1 (talk) 00:11, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose moving the singer; there's the two UK entries, of Sir Alex Ferguson, and Duchess Sarah Ferguson, both frequently known as "Fergie"; if the dab page is moved to be base name, these two Fergies should be added to the dab page, as they are now part of the name page only. However, I don't see why the name page should be moved, just leave the name page as the base target. It's certainly mostly used as a name, and not other subjects. I don't think merging the dab page into the name page would be all that good, since the information about being a form of "Fergus", "Ferguson", "Fergusson" cannot be held in a disambiguation page (it would have a line with three links), and the non-name topics cannot be held in a name page. Thus the two pages are not compatible with each other. -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 05:47, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Clearly not the only Fergie and not the primary topic. The Duchess of York is just as well-known by this name. The fact this one's article is titled just by the name is irrelevant. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:47, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest we remove the line in the opening paragraph about Fergie not considering herself a rapper. Listen to her albums - both solo and with BEP. She’s a rapper as well as a singer. We should not let Fergie’s moment of humility in a 2006 Rolling Stone interview somehow invalidate her as a rapper (especially in the opening intro). She was showing respect to the culture, but she is, in fact, a rapper.
