Proposal to split up list article Deaths in 2003

[edit]

For some time now I have concerned myself with the Lists of deaths. Via a semi-automated process I am checking the Deaths-by-Month articles for consistency and errors. I started in December 2005 and intend to work my way back to 1996. Before 2004 the deaths lists are not organized by month but per year. Currently the Deaths in 2003 article has become so long that it should be split be up into lists per month. I would like to perform that task. I have these questions:

  • Should I just go ahead and do it or do I need approval/establish consensus from WikiProject Death first?
  • I identified following areas the will need updating after the split into month articles:

1. Article Lists of deaths by year, subsection 2003
=== 2003 ===
{{Main|Deaths in 2003}}
Should be updated to:
=== 2003 ===
{{See also|2003#Deaths}}
2. Article Deaths in 2003 itself
The article will have to be redirected to Lists of deaths by year#2003
3. Existing redirects to Deaths in 2003
I found 26 redirect pages to the article I intend to split up. F.i.:
- August 2003 deaths
- 2003_in_memoriam
Twelve of them will be used as the new Deaths-by-Month articles. This leaves 14 redirect pages to be updated
Am I missing something?
NB: Proposal is also done here
