'Bold text'==Speedy deletion nomination of Safe-In-Sound Award==

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Safe-In-Sound Award requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.safeinsound.us. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, TMorata. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 16:14, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:MrOllie seems that we have excellent disclosure at User:TMorata. Can you please explain to what you refer?
I image that you mean this[1]? Yes agree it is important not to write about yourself agree. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 02:52, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Mostly the self listing on Morata, yes. There's also been some citation to self-written papers which isn't ideal per the COI guidelines, though I personally found them to improve the articles so I didn't revert or anything. - MrOllie (talk) 03:29, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I see in a recent addition to Traceability you included material that was closely paraphrased from a webpage that is available under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this legal requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 16:47, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Material you included in the above article appears to have been copied from the copyright web page http://www.cochrane.org/CD006396/OCCHEALTH_interventions-prevent-hearing-loss-caused-noise-work. Copying text directly from a source is a copyright violation. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, some of the content had to be removed and I paraphrased some. Please leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions or if you think I made a mistake. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:32, 5 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

--Smokefoot (talk) 15:01, 6 April 2018 (UTC)==Disambiguation link notification for April 4==[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hearing loss, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Impulse noise (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Welcome, but be careful

Welcome to Wikipedia. Here are suggested readings: WP:SECONDARY and WP:COI. The gist of these guidelines are:

  • Wikipedia prefers citations to reviews and books, not primary journal references (tens of thousands appear annually). Citing secondary sources is the encyclopedic style.
  • Do not cite yourself or your colleagues. It's called conflict of interest. Many new editors cite themselves mainly. That behavior is unacceptable.

If you have questions, many editors can offer advice. Happy editing.--Smokefoot (talk) 15:05, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, TMorata. You said a couple of days ago at Talk:Liver transplantation that you'd have a word with User:TianyiWang93 about their unresponsiveness to attempts at discussion, and edit warring to force their poorly written content into articles. If you did talk with them I'm afraid it hasn't made any difference; today they have reverted their text back in again at both Liver transplantation and Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. We don't like to block students from editing, obviously, but the way this is going, I'm afraid Tianyi is likely to be blocked. Do you think their lack of response to us is a language problem? Whether or not, we have to defend the quality of articles. Bishonen | talk 17:09, 25 April 2018 (UTC).[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of International Society of Audiology

Hello TMorata,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged International Society of Audiology for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Signed up 4 sound

I signed up last night, and went to the talk at the ASA meeting this morning. But most of my edits are unrelated to this project, so maybe I should cancel out and a make a secondary account instead? You can see my mostly irrelevant edits at this page. Dicklyon (talk) 17:40, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your stats were being dominated by my edits unrelated to acoustics, so I left the program. Maybe I'll make a secondary account and try again. Dicklyon (talk) 16:28, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I signed up as User:DickLyon4Sound. Dicklyon (talk) 05:00, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A hint about notifying other editors

Hi, I noticed that you attempted to notify several editors in a recent talk page post. You can send notifications to other editors by the use of templates. There are several synonymous templates that will accomplish this for you. One is "ping". You would need to type {{ping|TMorata}} to produce a notification, it is not done by typing @TMorata (even though that's how it looks once the page is saved). Hope that helps! Elysia (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:14, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for being part of the Symposium on Wikipedia and COVID-19 today

It was great to have you there, and I am looking forward to more exchanges on the matter, especially around providing background information on semi-directly related topics that may also be relevant for the next outbreaks and similar events. Also curious about the role of Wikidata in your plans. -- Daniel Mietchen (talk) 01:26, 10 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Daniel Mietchen: Thank you Daniel! Nice of you to write. Several of researchers at NIOSH got basic training to edit, but in situations like this, most are hesitant to edit because of a perceived lack of autonomy. So I have been knocking on doors see if we can get an internal training on edits that would not conflict with the communication strategy in place, so others will join. @John P. Sadowski (NIOSH): also included Wikidata in the training he offered. Not sure if anyone is following up with that. Take care and thanks for the great work you do. It is inspiring. TMorata (talk) 14:55, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Daniel Mietchen: Nearly all of my Wikidata work is importing publication data from NIOSHTIC, as well as resolving author name strings to author items. I recently imported ~260k main topic statements, which I think you noticed. Some years ago James Hare had imported chemical safety data from the NIOSH Pocket Guide, but I haven't done anything additional with that myself. John P. Pyramid Hill

Thanks for creating the article. I had put in a request at requested articles some years ago when my daughter came home from a church work camp with photos from Pyramid Hill. For some reason, I thought about looking it up today and found your article.

There are a few problems that I wish to point out. First, you did a copypaste move from your draft to the article. This should have been a page move so as not to lose the earlier history of your contributions. You can request a histmerge to fix this problem.

Next, a couple of passages are either copied to too closely paraphrased from other sources. I found that this article contains an almost identical paragraph talking about the "Cincinatti Story" while this other entry, except for an interpolated sentence quoting the Atlantic, is essentially identical to your lead paragraph. Now, for all I know. all of these are copying some other source, but in this case it seems fairly unlikely that it's a reverse-copy where someone has lifted text from Wikipedia without attribution. You should avoid copying material into your articles! — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:52, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Jmcgnh: Thank you for your guidance. It is clear I still have a lot to learn, so I honestly appreciate it. I will follow up on it. TMorata (talk) 12:36, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Make Listening Safe moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Make Listening Safe, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Concern regarding Draft:Vaccination in Brazil

Information icon Hello, TMorata. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Vaccination in Brazil, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Draft space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for article space.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available here.

On 3 May 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Safe listening, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that safe listening prevents risks to hearing from voluntary sound exposure rather than unwanted noise? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Safe listening. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Safe listening), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Happy holidays!

Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year, Thais!

The other day, I was having a conversation with someone about holiday cards and social media. It occurred to me that, in the years since I left Facebook, the site I use most to communicate with people I like isn't actually a social media site at all. If you're receiving this, it's pretty likely I've talked with you more recently than I have my distant relatives and college friends on FB, at very least, and we may have even collaborated on something useful. So here's a holiday "card", Wikipedia friend. :) Hope the next couple weeks bring some fun and/or rest. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 18:33, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WP:MED News

  • Wikipedia:Good article reassessment is back in business, with a new process and new coordinators. If you see medicine-related GAs that may no longer meet the GA criteria, feel free to nominate them for attention/reassessment (please, not too many at once, lest we get overwhelmed). I'll incorporate them into the listings above.
  • Major depressive disorder, Schizophrenia, and Dengue fever are featured articles that need updating. Feel free to chime in at the talk pages or WT:MED if you have the time/bandwidth to help update. They'll likely go to featured article review for more feedback in the near(ish) future (probably in the order listed).

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Account creator granted

After reviewing your request for the "accountcreator" permission, I have temporarily enabled the flag on your account until 2024-09-25. Keep in mind these things:

  • The account creator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
  • The account creator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the account creator right will result in its removal by an administrator.

If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the account creator right. Happy editing! Elli (talk | contribs) 14:07, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Much appreciated! TMorata (talk) 12:30, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi TMorata! Firstly, apologies for the confusion here. The above grant of the accountcreator group should not have been done and I've just reverted it. The accountcreator group is solely for those active in the WP:ACC process, which doesn't apply to you.
That said, we do have another group which is much more suited to those running events called "eventcoordinator", and I've granted this to you in it's place. It will still allow you to create multiple accounts just like the accountcreator group, but does not include some of the more sensitive overrides that the accountcreator group has. Eventcoordinators also have the ability to mark users as confirmed for up to 10 days, which can be quite useful when managing events (accountcreator does not allow this). I'll drop the correct templated message for you below. stwalkerster (talk) 20:51, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Upcoming expiry of your eventcoordinator right

Hi, this is an automated reminder as part of Global reminder bot to let you know that your permission "eventcoordinator" will expire on 2024-09-25 00:00:00. For most rights, you will need to renew at WP:PERM, unless you have been told otherwise when your right was approved. To opt out of user right expiry notifications, add yourself to m:Global reminder bot/Exclusion. Leaderbot (talk) 03:48, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Answer to your question

Hi Dr. Morata,

On the WikiConference North America 2024 discussion page you asked how a presenter could upload a presentation. I think you upload it through Wikimedia Commons and link it on your proposal. See you there!

Cheers, Bremps... 22:40, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you for writing! Christi and I also enjoyed meeting you and attending your talk. We will for sure keep you in mind, and hope to see you again. TMorata (talk) 14:10, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
