Bigg Boss 18 also known as Bigg Boss: Time Ka Taandav is an eighteenth season of the Indian Hindi-language reality show Bigg Boss. It premiered on 6 October 2024 on Colors TV and JioCinema. Salman Khan is hosting the show for the fifteenth time.[1][2][3]
Production
Promotions
Nia Sharma was announced as the first confirmed contestant on September 29, 2024, during the finale of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14[4] but she later announced that she would not be entering the show.[5] On October 3, promos featuring Shilpa Shirodkar and Shehzada Dhami as contestants were released on social media.[6][7] On October 4, promos featuring Chaahat Pandey and Vivian Dsena were released.[8] On October 5, teasers featuring Alice Kaushik, Gunratan Sadavarte and Eisha Singh were released. On October 6, 2024, the grand premiere day promo featuring Avinash Mishra[9], along with a separate promo for Arfeen Khan and Sara, was released, with Hrithik Roshan introducing them as contestants.[10]
Theme
The theme for this season is "Time Ka Taandav". This year Bigg Boss will play with time, he will see the contestants's past, present and future. [11]
Morning anthem
Like the two previous seasons, this season has a Bigg Boss Anthem in the morning instead of the usual wake-up songs.
Eye logo
The design prominently includes a stylized eye at the center, which has a striking blue color with detailed textures, resembling an iris and pupil. Surrounding the eye is a circular clock motif, with gold outlines and clock markings, suggesting a theme of time or vigilance. The overall color scheme combines blue, gold, and white.
Release
The teaser was released on September 16, 2024 voiced by Salman Khan, announcing the arrival and theme of this season.[12][13][14] On September 22, 2024, Colors TV released a new promo featuring host Salman Khan, marking his return to the show after absence in the OTT version while announcing the premiere date for the new season.[15]
House
The house of this season had a "cave and fort-like" theme. The house was located in Film City, Mumbai for the sixth time. The house has a seven sections of area: living area, kitchen area, dining and sitting area, bedroom area, garden area, jail and Confession room. The jail of the house was designed as ancient cave with white walls, small beds and telephone located inside the house next to the bedroom. A swimming pool is placed with a stone deck next to it. The bathroom was designed like a Turkish Hammam. This season has 107 cameras.[16]

On Day 3, the nomination process took place in the garden area, where all housemates' photos were displayed on the Maut Ka Farmaan board. First, each housemate voiced the name of one contestant they wanted to nominate. After that, the archer would shoot an arrow at the photo of the nominated housemate. If that housemate received three or more nominations, they would be nominated for eviction; if they received less than three nominations, they would be safe. The archer had ten arrows, allowing housemates to nominate a maximum of ten contestants. | |

During this task, an hourglass was placed in the garden, where housemates in pairs needed to keep an eye on it while sitting on a horse. Each pair would first fill the sand kept near the hourglass up to the yellow line. They then needed to open a knob at the bottom to allow the sand to flow from the hourglass until it reached the red line mark. After that, the pair would stop the knob and hand it over to the next pair, who would repeat the same procedure.
However, the housemates failed to comply with the rules. The first violation was by Shilpa, who fell asleep while watching the hourglass, and the second violation was Karanveer, who started the task alone instead of in a pair. As a result, Bigg Boss halted the task and announced that instead of 16 boxes of rations, he would only provide six boxes. | |
