September music

story · music · places

Today is Schoenberg's 150th birthday! On display his portrait by Egon Schiele, music from Moses und Aron, and two DYK hooks, one from 2010 and another from 2014; the latter, about his 40th birthday, appeared on his 140th birthday ;) - See places for a stunning sunrise, on the day Bruckner's 200th birthday was celebrated (just a few days late). -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:10, 13 September 2024 (UTC)

DYK Namespace change

Hi Wug - several DYK users have recently expressed a desire to change namespaces for many DYK changes, and I was wondering whether this could be implemented on WugBot easily or whether it would need some modifications. I know that an initial namespace change was going to be implemented in 2021 but never came to fruition, so just looking for ideas. Thanks! DimensionalFusion (talk · she/her) 11:19, 27 September 2024 (UTC)

Hi DimensionalFusion, the code is the easy part. Around line 288 of the code the page to be parsed and written to are just variables that need to be changed, so as long as the page format is the same, the namespace doesn't matter to WugBot. The hard part is that the job runner changed a few months ago, and I don't feel comfortable enough with the system to push changes right now. If there were a clear consensus and an outline of a migration plan, I could commit to researching that further and making the change when needed. Another option is to have someone take over that task from me, which might be better long term if you or someone else is interested in taking that on. Wug·a·po·des 05:27, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
