Thomas-Mann-Gymnasium Stutensee

Thomas-Mann-Gymnasium Stutensee (TMG) is part of the school center of the large district town of Stutensee, north of Karlsruhe in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.[1] It is located in Stutensee's district Blankenloch [de; nl; ru].[2]

Together with the Erich-Kästner-Realschule, the grammar school forms a two-storey complex with a new building. The administration and staff of the two schools are separate. Only the playground and recreation area are shared.

In connection with the conversion of the Thomas-Mann-Gymnasium from a mathematics, science and modern languages secondary school to a science, technology and language secondary school from the 2006/2007 school year, a canteen was built in front of the school in 2006.

Special features

[edit]

Thomas-Mann-Gymnasium is one of the few schools in Germany to run a model railroad study group. The working group is not only active in the school, but also presents itself annually at the model building fair in Sinsheim, for example. In 2004, it took over the management of a competition at a large model railroad exhibition in Cologne, built a large layout from partial layouts of competition participants and took care of the smooth operation for three days.

TMG Stutensee took part in the Comenius programme funded and supported by the European Commission.

TMG Stutensee has two school dogs.

TMG has an observatory.[3]
