Avalanche peaks the Himalayan mountain peaks and are situated to the northwest of Badrinath in the central Garhwal region. These peaks are on the Arwa valley.These peaks are situated in the Chamoli district of the Uttarakhand state of India.These two peaks are named as Avalanche Peak I and Avalanche Peak II. These peaks offers steep and tough trek across Suryala Glacier on lateral moraine of the Kalindi Glacier and camp below Avalanche Peak. Avalanche Peak is situated on north south massif and Between Kalindi Bamak and Arwa Bank. Avalanche Peaks are situated Between Birnie’s col,Kalindi Khal Passes.Avalanche Peaks are so named they generated avalanches during first climbs.

Avalanche Peak I

This is the main peak among the two and situated south to the Avalanche Peak II.The altitude of the summit is 6196 mts.North to this peak Kalindi peak is situated.It was first climbed by Eric Shipton nad Frank Smythe in 1931 with two Sherpas.

It is second,higher and northerly and is situated south of Kalindi Khal which separates Chaturangi glacier from the Arwa valley.The altitude of the summit is 6443mts.Easiest route is through Bangnea Glacier system.
