Darnell McIntosh (born 5 July 1997) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays as a winger or fullback for Leigh Leopards in the Super League.[3]

He has spent time on loan from Huddersfield at Oldham in the Kingstone Press Championship in both 2016 and 2017.

Background

McIntosh was born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. He is of Grenadian heritage.

Darnell is a product of the Giants' scholarship system [4] and was called up to the England Knights squad along with 3 other Giants players in 2019 [5]

Career

Huddersfield Giants

McIntosh spent time on loan at the Oldham in 2016. In round 3 of the 2021 Super League season, he scored two tries for Huddersfield in a 25-24 loss against Hull Kingston Rovers.[6]

Hull FC

In round 11 of the 2022 Super League season, he scored a hat-trick in Hull F.C.'s 48-12 win over Toulouse Olympique.[7] In round 1 of the 2023 Super League season, McIntosh scored two tries for Hull F.C. against Castleford which ended in a 32-30 victory.[8] McIntosh played a total of 21 games for Hull F.C. for in the Super League XXVIII season and scored ten tries as the club finished 10th on the table.[9]

Leigh Leopards

On 23 Apr 24 it was confirmed that he had signed Leigh Leopards, in a swap deal with Tom Briscoe.[10]
