Addressing the big issue

I think at this point we can absolutely agree that this article's encylopedic value has increasingly lowered, as there are certain sections that have the references not explicitly saying the part it was supposed to cite, not to mention some editors have now started showing aggressive behavior and adding unsourced for the mere sake of keeping all the info accurate to the info provided by the primary source (Miss Universe Organization) when in fact Wikipedia's main purpose is to be a third party article.

@Sciencefish, @Allyriana000, @Jjj1238, @Bri, @LikeRealTimes I am asking for your inputs on this part or even assist in restoring the original consensus we have agreed upon before (re: removing unsourced addition of participating countries) Milesq (talk) 17:32, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

I don't think any more local consensus needs to be developed on supporting WP:Verifiability, a core policy of Wikpedia. But can you give a diff or two describing the problem at hand? ☆ Bri (talk) 17:35, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

@Bri kindly check the upcoming pageants section's references, particularly the one with the rowspans, I checked the reference and it does not say any coronation date at all - only confirmation of possible participation, which is absolutely not the info it claims to be. I did remove it before as per my edit but was again reverted by a certain editor as seen here, just reasoning it should not be removed.

The editor is pretty agressive (has already called me as 'talking too much' and 'stupid') and I do not want to end up edit-warring hence why I asked to reinstate consensus as they seem to not abide by it. Part of the reason I have stopped editing Miss Universe pageant articles is the prevalence of editors who refuse to comply with policy and lower the quality of the articles by adding either irrelevant or unsourced content. In my experience, the only way to prevent this from continuously occurring is seeking punishments for editors who continuously are violating policy. As a suggestion for the upcoming pageant dates section, I think we should put the source on the country name rather than the date to make it more visibly apparent when a country is unsourced. They get away with adding unsourced content by pretending that the one or two sources on the date covers every country that is on that date. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 20:38, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

This is the reason why I have edited more on Wikipedia Tagalog. Many editors in this article are newbies who do not know about the rules in Wikipedia, especially with the addition of unsourced content. The only for those aggressive accounts to lessen their occurrence is for this page to have 1) Extended confirmed protection 2) Report the aggressive accounts 3) Remove unsourced content unapologetically. @Allyriana000 I went ahead and took action of restoring the proper conventions, now in case they do another personal attack at me I will have to raise it to WP:ANI so they can finally reflect (if ever) that they are not helping Wikipedia's encyclopedic content. Hi, please try to be clearer with your English, as MOS:COMMONNAME makes no sense in this context. Please issue language warnings on the users talk page, not here using Template:Uw-english. Likewise please use the unsourced warning templates, starting with Template:Uw-unsourced1 and escalate from there, and if you are contacting an administrator do so on their talk pages with some relevant diffs and indications that the user you are reporting has been previously warned.
