Linter fostered content error

[edit]

This template page contains a Linter fostered content error. I have fixed it a couple of times, but those fixes have been modified, restoring the error. TheLoyalOrder, please provide an example of the problems that my fixes created, either on this page or where the template is transcluded. I have created Template:New Zealand local election table row/testcases so that you can demonstrate any problems. The sandbox version of the template currently contains code without Linter errors. – Jonesey95 (talk) 00:02, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

adding the newline character messes up the formatting, idky its not showing on the testcases but on the article where i use it adds a bunch of padding and the source col is no longer vertically centered. can replicate it on the testcase by adding an extra line between the templates TheLoyalOrder (talk) 00:25, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When I put the sandbox version into 2022 New Zealand local elections#Unitary authorities, it renders exactly the same for me. Please demonstrate the problem using the sandbox version of the template, and provide a link to the demonstration. And don't put an extra line between the templates unless you want more whitespace; that's what extra whitespace is for. – Jonesey95 (talk) 00:36, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
cant recreate it with the sandbox version, maybe that version doesnt have the problem I was seeing. TheLoyalOrder (talk) 01:59, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I have copied the sandbox to the live template to fix the syntax error. If you see any problems, please post a link to an affected page here, and I will take a look. There may be some edge cases that behave in a way that requires a further tweak to the template's code. – Jonesey95 (talk) 04:12, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion

[edit]

Perhaps you could add a column for the electoral system used in that election? i.e. FPP or STV. 2405:DA40:4374:6600:B925:9175:DD6D:E47C (talk) 22:51, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
