Cast and Crew Interview

VISHAL BHARADWAJ

Vishal reveals, "My film will be in the thriller format. We don't want to preach to the audience. We want to entertain them. The message shouldn't come out in a boring manner. All of us directors Mira Nair, Farhan Akhtar, Santosh Sivan are making films on various aspects of the HIV problem. My theme in Blood Brothers is that that life doesn't end with AIDS. It can actually be a new beginning."

AYESHA TAKIA

Says Ayesha, “It’s a pleasure to work with someone like Vishal Bhardwaj, and it’s such a relevant subject.

I honestly feel actors need to stretch themselves beyond entertainment after a point. I’d like to believe that Vishal’s film will be a learning experience for me, and it would also make audiences think. Vishal’s film says HIV isn’t necessarily the end of life.”

Ayesha has already worked with Vishal in his capacity as producer of Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking. “Yes, but that film is different. Working with Vishal as a director will be a fantastic experience.

I’ve seen what he can do with his actors. Maqbool and Omkara are brilliant films,” she says.

The film requires just a short chunk of dates in March. “But even if more dates are required, I’ll gladly do that for Vishal’s film. It’s a beautiful story on a very important subject, and my co-star is Siddharth.

I think he was fabulous in Rang De Basanti. Dor has worked a similar magic for my career. It has opened up so many doors for me. I don’t think I’d have landed Vishal’s film if it wasn’t for Dor.”
