License tagging for Image:Angela words.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Angela words.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 21:05, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for adding those two images! All images have to have a copyright tag, however. I've tagged your two images, so please at least check them out to see how to tag an album cover. Happy editing! Verloren Hoop 04:05, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please consult Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs to read about the proper way to title song articles. I've moved several articles you created with the incorrect "(Single)" instead of "(song)". Also, cover versions should be placed into the main article for the song, not given their own page. Thanks! -- eo 02:44, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Heyprettypromo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Heyprettypromo.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BrownCow • (how now?) 18:05, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Thesewords.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Thesewords.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 21:24, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:HoleGoldDustWoman.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HoleGoldDustWoman.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 17:23, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Peaches-Downtown.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Peaches-Downtown.jpg. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. change of dutch chart position for valerie

[edit]

care to explain why you raised the chart position of valerie from 6 to 3 in the dutch single chart here? http://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Valerie_%28The_Zutons_song%29&oldid=184128739 as far as i can see it just entered the charts this week on #20. Boneyard (talk) 12:26, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the info, i kinda forgot we have like three single charts in the netherlands and this one doesn't count airplay in it's ranking system. therefor valerie by amy whinehouse entered much higher there. feel free to edit it back, i believe usually the ranking from the dutch top40 is used. but im unsure if that is a rule or such. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Extraordinary Machine, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Wikipedia articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add your reference to the article. Thank you. Proposed deletion of Holly Brook EP

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Holly Brook EP, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable EP with little or no media coverage of substance. Fails WP:NALBUMS.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Orphaned non-free media (File:Mandyfaith.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Mandyfaith.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:07, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Acapella

[edit]

Your additions to Acapella (song) were not helpful for the following reasons:

  1. download charts are not allowed as they are components of the main singles charts.
  2. charts should be listed alphabetically according to WP:record charts. Lil-unique1 (talk) 14:14, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Vanessa Paradis. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Trafford09 (talk) 22:38, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Natasha Bedingfield/Touch

[edit]

When adding references and information to the article please can you make sure you use British English as Natasha Bedingfield is a UK citizen and therefore a UK subject. That means using British date format which is dd mm yyyy as opposed to the US format of mm dd, yyyy. Thank you Lil-unique1 (talk) 21:20, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Lickstargirls.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lickstargirls.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 15:11, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Aneveningwithadele.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Aneveningwithadele.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 02:05, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Jill Stein

[edit]

I appreciated your comment on the Jill Stein page (here), as I am trying to break the hold being held on that page by a group of editors who have been blocking neutral editing. Your comment will have more force on the talk page if you sign it by adding four tildes at the end.

Also, it would be very helpful if you voted in the request for comment! The question you raised (JS stating her position on vaccines) is at this very moment being prevented from being added on the grounds that it would be "misleading" or "incorrect" to do so.

Thank you very much for your interest in wikipedia neutrality. SashiRolls (talk) 08:13, 15 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
